We should support our highly motivated diaspora to structure their increasing and value added support. Regrettably it is often counterparts at home either for reasons of envy or unfounded fears who help to frustrate their efforts. In this case what is the GMA doing to help bring home this support or are they seen as competitors? What are our organised engineers groups at home doing to create synergy with the Ghanaian counterparts in diaspora, or are they competitors? Very strange that we can afford to fight progress and turn round to blame someone else.tHE ATTITUDE OF WHAT IS IN IT FOR ME FIRST HAS LARGELY BEEN OVERCOME BY OUR DIASPORAN COMPATRIOTS AND THEY CAN HELP RECATALYSE THIS BACK HOME IF WE ALLOW THEM THE RIGHTFUL SPACE. But Diaspora should not relent. Long live Ghana. Long live Africa.AYEKOO, GHANAIAN PHYSICIANS AND SURGEONS OF AMERICA.

Greediness, jealousy, corruption, laziness, selfishness, disorganization, lack of accountability, and irresponsibility are the diagnosis. That's why our beloved nation is SICK! Though he has a lot of work on his plate, President Mahama should forcefully and in a "no-nonsense" manner address these chronic issues. The nature of our culture and attitude requires strong leadership to eradicate or minimize these societal ills. Ghanaians will only pay attention to a no-nonsense President who is not afraid to sack his Ministers and civil servants who don't perform and are obstacles to development. Ghana has too many human and natural resources available at her disposal to reach a much higher level of development yet on this journey towards a better standard of living, few Ghanaian bureaucrats are hindering our progress.

The system in Ghana is such that they talk as if they want Ghanaian professionals in the diaspora to come home and help. The reality is that they do not want you. They would rather want you to send some money which someone could steal, period. This is the very reason many are slowly forgetting about Ghana. After all, everyone has one life to live, why not make the best use of it wherever you find yourself?

It is not only failures like Jerry Rawlings who hate successful Ghanaians. The academics, business people, musicians and even clergy, all engage in it. And the main reasons are not far-fetched: "with your daollars from outside," you will outshine them; you will not engage in bribe-taking, and might even challenge them for their women. You see, women are part of their remuneration. You might jeopadise that.

Dear Doc, don't be surprised. A psychiatrist friend wanted to donate his time/money teach for free to help those in need of psychriatic care. They frustrated him so much that eventually, they told him that they couldn't find his medical certificate that he sent to Ghana. Someone indeed didn't want him to bring his expertise. It is indeed mind boggling!

I have read most of the comments and there is no lack of insight from the respondents into the reasons why the Ghana Medical Dental Council and the other other controlling bodies construct barriers that prevent Africans in the Diaspora to give back to Ghana. Bottom line it is very sad...and the disease that has infected our minds keeps the entire continent backwards.

Whom are prepared to help the country of their birth, being pathetically, deliberately, and stupidly frustrated. What's even more worrying to me,is the senseless $400 accreditation fee the morons board deems right to charge a volunteer. Sometimes,if one is compelled to use befitting words, they say u're insulting. If what the Drs 're saying is true story, which I sincerely believe it is.Then, what spices of specimens of human-beings are some head of departments?.Leadership is a endemic problem in Ghana. to be continued.
