You ask how accountability and serious oversight can be achieved? Well, you start with mandatory quarterly financial declaration and auditing. An ombudsman to oversee government financial dealings at any time must also be instituted. The problem is that the Auditor General's department only exists in name.
Without accountability and oversight, nothing will work. The talk about fighting corruption is nothing but just talk. No one is serious, because eliminating or reducing corruption does not benefit any Ghanaian and, for that matter, any African politician.

The onus of government business is to be unsympathetic towards laggards and immoral conducts but be rather benevolent towards the poor and needy. Government business is also about fair and equitable distribution of the national cake which implies a careful dose of business promotion, skills acquisition and of preventing poverty.
If Mahama should be true to his NDC roots, then he will soon be as proactive as his predecessors. Forgive Mills low key performance for he was unwell from start to finish but surely, Mahama, JJR and Nkrumah will live up to the CPP/NDC dream. No nonsense to corruption no time to allow greed anymore. NDC has one shot and it needs to be taken with both hands. The clearing agent at Tema refused to over inflate pay the huge kick backs he's demanding and consequently the chemicals were left to rot at the warehouse.
