The passing of this great leader has saddened our hearts. Our beloved Dr. Dodoo was caring, loving, and indulging. He participated in every function, irrespective of the kind, nature, location, distance, he always showed up. My last encounter with him was at Mr. lomotey's send-off party at the Ghana Mission,New York, little did I know that, that was going to be the last time we would see him. Dr. Dodoo, May your works be rewarded. You will forever be remembered. May your soul and the souls of the faithful departed, through the Mercy of God, Rest in perfect peace. Ameeeennnoooooooo.

I saw a caption 'Dr Dodoo donates to Ganikasemo Asafo' this appeared on the Gadangme yahoo forum of which he was an ardent member and a member and fine contributor. I typed out a response indeed I did, but was unable to send it. The basic reason the computer did not allow me to send it. I tried several times. Instead I produced a simple thank you note and posted it.
Surely enough he responded almost straight away ‘’much appreciated’’ something to that effect. Yes that was the evening in London, followed by another strange…..thing in the early hours of the morning. The story is better being told to someone who appreciates spiritual matters. Within hours there was a thought about today (19th February as being 17th April 2013 when it was rather 19th February 2013.
I kept asking myself who died this day 17th April 196..? I said to myself wait a minute it was a head of state somewhere. The thought went on for a while till I saw the topic in capital ‘’RUMOUR’ ‘’RUMOUR. I sneakily opened one of those posts and it was almost about the strange thing on the computer and the following early hours and the ensuing morning. Three things in succession all linking each other. May Ataa Darkufio rest in peace and in the arms of God the creator.

Ben lived next door to me for more than 10 years when I was a child. His son, Benji and I are the same age, and attended school together from Kindergarten through high school. He was a kind, wonderful, learned and generous man, who took care of my grandmother in our home during her final years.
In addition to his skills as a physician, I remember him as an avid gardener, the man who raised a small row of saplings into a beautiful line of tall evergreens that ran the border between our home and his. In 1978, He took the unlandscaped land of his newly built home and in a few short years turned it into a paradise. I remember the Dodoos as the finest of neighbors.
Although I hadn't seen him in years, I remember when he came to call when my brother died unexpectedly fifteen years ago. I was just beginning the process of applying to law school, and was debating postponing for a year or two given the shock of the situation. Ben encouraged me to continue, telling me that, even if I did not end up practicing law, the education alone was worth the effort, and that the knowledge I would gain was something nobody could take away from me.
I will always be grateful to Ben for his kindess, his generosity, and his counsel.
