My challenge is the bullet payment of money when the infrastructure is yet to be commence in earnest. The time value of money and the timing of the payments, the rush to do it before elections makes it all the more questionable.
The fisheries, vegetables and fruit growers require such HUGE support. It seems all roads leads to SADA, an over-correction, mis-directed and expensive policy choice

Criticism is good when it helps to put the targeted person on the right path to doing exactly what is expected of him. It is however of no use if it is done from the standpoint of ignorance. We need to be presented with the audited accounts of SADA so that we can raise appropritae questions on their activities. It is hoped that other zones will be mapped down south for similar projects to sustain the anticipated food security that SADA will bring to Ghana in the future.

The whole idea was wrong and the money should have been used for tractors, combine harvesters and other farm implements for farmers in the North. If they were to pant any tree at all, it should have been the Shea-Nut tree, which is indigenous to the environment. This is not how to help Northerners; this is how to use Northerners by a select few.

I know Al-Haj Gilbert Iddi to be an honest and a very, very qualified agriculturalist. He worked in all parts of the North as an agric extension officer both as an expert in crops and animal husbandry since he qualified from UST and continued to do so when he returned home to Ghana from the UK with a Masters degree. No one knows, indeed loves the North better than this former Northern Regional Minister. I believe him when he says the project is on course. I advise all critics to wait and see the wonderful result this project is going to produce. The Director will be the first to pull the plug if he finds a problem with it.
