If the government ignores the IMF warning and the eminent economists' advice, it will regret it. For, if the NPP, for some reason, comes to power its leaders will be first to agree with the IMF and the economists and supress wages with the help of the unions and their leaders - making the NDC kicks itself!

The problem we face in Ghana is that there were inadequate planning and education prior to implementation of the Single Spine System. In the U.S fed pay system you can have doctors who earn less than office administrators. Education, years of experience, and the type of position determine the pay grade. A gov't doctor in the U.S who wants to earn more than the office administrator will usually quit their position and work in the private sector where there is no such pay structure.

Thios single spine is idea was started by the NPP. If the NDC gov had discontinued it we all know what people would have said. We have to learn from this idea of continuing what your predecessor started.
