  If the court finds that Nana Akufo-Addo has not been called to the bar and therefore he is not and has never been a lawyer, then it would be appropriate for the police to intervene - not until then? Would you say that Mr Kpegah is conducting a civil action or a private criminal prosecution?
  
  Be mindful of the fact, as an aspiring lawyer, that in the face of incontrovertible evidence, the loss of a certificate does not mean that a person never lawfully acquired it.
  
  Let Mr Kpegah prove his assertions in court, then Kofi Wayo and his ilk may call for police intervention.

  Identity theft is a big thing the world over and the USA in particular goes to great lengths to combat this scourge. For this reason I do not in my humble opinion believe that, any relevant law enforcement agency in the USA (that I am aware of) will brand you a retard if a loss of this nature is reported, because once the loss or theft (call it whatever you may) is reported, it goes on to the system's data base, red-flagged and if anybody tries to use the document/item, ostensibly to impersonate the real owner, it triggers the "alarm" which sets off the hunt. You could still get a replacement but you have to report the loss/theft. In some societies, outside Africa, such replacements are not done willy-nilly. You have to furnish a document (reflecting a CRIMINAL RECORD NUMBER) issued by the Police at the office at which you have reported the loss/theft before your request is addressed appropriately.
  
  Not quite long ago in one of the news items on Ghanaweb, a Ghanaian was arrested in the USA when he went to take delivery of goods ordered with a stolen credit card by another Ghanaian outside the USA. The arrest was not a fortuitous incident but rather the culmination of processes put into effect on the loss of the card. When the gentleman went to collect the ordered items, the delivery point had already been aware about the tainted status of that particular card because it had been red-flagged, so he was like a fly walking into a spider's web. Law enforcement is a collaborative pursuit in societies that are serious about its proper functioning.
  
  Being a high profile Ghanaian, issues surrounding Nana Akuffo Addo may demand a different approach than will apply to the ordinary Ghanaian. Issues that attract the input of national security have certain sensitivities that is why society will accord you a less keen attention compared with President Mahama or Nana Akuffo Addo in a similar issue so the involvement of the BNI will not be akin to going mosquito hunting with a bazooka.

  Unfortunately he is not educated and for that reason he does not know how one acquires a certificate from school and whta needs to be done to get a replacement when it is missing or you cannot find it ion one way or the order.
  What has governement got to do with investigating this missing certificate issue.
  It is up to the owner of the certificate to follow the required process or procedure of the issuing institution to get a new copy from them.
  This guy should just shout his mouth and leave Ghanaians alone if he does not understand the issue at stake.
  We are sick and tired of his nonsense of wasting our time and resources.

  According what i have heard from and read from the newspapers (i cannot vouch their authenticity though) that he informed the issuing body and they responded to him about the missing certificates.What in my opinion he needs to do is to ask for new copy to be made to him by the body.
  This is a standard procedure for every institution of education.
  The fact that it is missing does not mean you do not have any chance of having your certificates back.
  It is up to the individual to request for a copy. This is not a criminal offence that warrants BNI to investigate.

  1. which school did he attend to become a lawyer either locally or internationally?
  2. did he have some class mates at school he was attending and why is any of them unwilling to come to his aid?
  3. on his cv, there is a yawning gab between between a particular year and another year- a period of about 4 years, what was he doing between those years?

  Anytime this man opens his mouth, ignorant Ghanaians applaud him and that gives him the audacity to muddy the waters. He and Ken Kuranchi were the architects of the "drug and cocaine saga" that followed Nana Addo during the Mills campaign. What evidence did he provide to substantiate that allegation and here he is jumping into this fray.
  
  If the BNI should investigate this brouhaha, then what about the death of Mills? A president of a nation died mysteriously and impediments were put in place to stop any investigation. We are rather concerned about missing certificate. Ghana is in the hands of pigs, dogs, vultures.

If indeed the said law certificate is missing, then all he has to do is to apply for a new one since the records are there. Or there's no traces of it. This doesn't need any investigation like what Kofi Wayo is trying to imply. Making such statements show how backward Ghanaians are or Kofi Wayo in particular. Let's say Nana lost his driver's license, does it mean that the BNI should investigate; citing the involvement of the rest of the world. The rest of the world is watching closely the outcome of the Supreme Court hearing on the election fraud case. That's what matters to the international world. Nana has schooled in the UK, France ect. The NDC is trying to divert attention and also seek to cause mischief; it won't work!

  If a German minister can resign from her post and be investigated for merely plagiarizing in her master’s thesis several years ago in college, and an American president can be forced to resign and several party members going to prison because some party foot soldiers broke into the opposing party’s campaign headquarters, then I do not see why people even argue about this issue.
  
  This is not healthy. There is no need to blindly follow somebody because he is from the same party or clan or tribe. I am sure there are several outstanding citizens in every party or clan or tribe.
  
  Get with it people. Let this Nana proves to the whole nation that he is not a fraudster; or let him be investigated.
  
  When someone is seeking the highest office of the land, he must be scrutinized for his or her integrity, mental and health capacity.
  
  I am now just a retired college professor. But, I had to submit to all kinds of criminal background checks and other invasive evaluation before I could work.

Same as A'Level Cert and the rest. But because the authorities now know that in Africa, Certs are sold everywhere, no matter what cert one carries, you have to start from the scratch. To me, Mr. Akufo Addo has to be arrested. He can't operate for some six good years, without legal license assuming he has ever had law cert.Nobody can practice law, medicine, vehicle etc. for that long anywhere in the world without a cert or license. Nana is s crook. It doesn't take six years or so, for anyone to get his/her passport, cert etc. to be replaced let alone the son of a former president,former foreign Affairs minister and a presidential candidate. If indeed he had certs, they might have been replace. I support he has to be investigated.

I got my degree certificate missing and although I live abroad, I called the university where I studied in Ghana and had a replacement issued to me in the form of a letter AND THAT IS WHAT I USE FOR EVERYTHING I DO IF NEEDED. What has national security got to do with this? Stop making political mountains out of nothing.
  
  The perception of the outside world about our dear country IS NOT THAT OF FRAUD but rather making BIG ISSUES and TOO MUCH NOISE over TRIVIAL things like missing degree certificates.

He went to air force academy in Ghana after O level and he never lost his certificate.When Obama was accused of his birth certificate he show it to the public.   Nana Addo is holding himself as a high profile figure in Ghana body politic. No doubt he was the flag bearer of the biggest opposition party in Ghana.
  It is also not news that he is contesting the results of the 2012 elections and the legitimacy of Mahama’s presidency; a reason the international legal lenses and concerned world citizens have their eyes focused on the Supreme Court of Ghana in particular and the judicial system in general.
  What buttresses Kofi Wayo’s piercing but solid point is that Nana Addo was once Ghana’s Attorney General; a position that mandated him to represent the State on both domestic and international cases for, and brought against the State.
  That notwithstanding, many lawyers now practicing in Ghana and elsewhere received training from his chambers, which was legitimate until the recent huge and mighty question mark carried by retired Supreme Court Justice Kpergah from his humble quarters to the front of once pious door step of Nana Addo’s firm.
  Owing to the above stated reasons, Wayo’s call for BNI to look for Nana’s missing certificate should be a welcome call to all supporters of the NPP and Nana Addo himself since he has tried looking for it for several years but to no avail.
  BNI involvement would also help in refining the now crude Akuffo Addo and inject some respect and belief in Ghana’s Judicial system; the same way it will help bring some deep sigh of relief to all those he is purported to have trained in his firm.
