Kenkey still sells at 50p and not the GHC2.00 that a certain Parliamentarian once said. Maize still sells cheaper and those of us who invested in grain banking may not get any profit in 2013

Self-inflicted damage is regrettable with hindsight. Those who are publishing falsehood about the economic and social situation in the country to gain political advantage, will one day realise that they have shot themselves in the foot. For, if their preferred Party, for some reason, comes to power, the damage they had done will persist and rebound on them. It could be 'what's done cannot be undone' situation when the consequences are felt.

Even in the USA, since the price of gas went up during Fmr Prez Bush's second term, causing food prices to go up, they have never returned to normal..
Even today, gas prices in some areas of the United States are over $4.00 per gallon, meaning that we should expect price of gas to continue upwards as summer approaches, resulting in more food price hikes because the cost to transport the food items to our stores will go up!
A small bag of rice I used to buy during Bush's second term for $1.99 is now $6.99..
Food price hike is not unique to Ghana only- it is being experienced all over the world- moreover, China has even started hoarding food, including powered milk, causing that item to become unavailable in some places!
What Mr. Humado must do is find solutions to adequate food preservation, storage, and canning to ensure that should a world famine hits, Ghana can maintain some semblance of normalcy...
Also, watch CHINA; make sure that they DO NOT come and deplete Ghana's food supply by coming to Ghana and buying what seems like a surplus, and hoarding it in their country!

If they can't substantiate their credibility will be questioned by discerning Ghanaians as always.
