The damage should have been seen since when NPP was in power-if only Kuffuor would have stopped trotting around the world for per diem and sat home and be presidential and take care of business for once, Kumasi wouldn't be in the shape it is now. These are the guys who have been making noise that they built their city alone without Government help, now crying for the Government to do this and do that for them. Even to drive the Chinese away from them when it is their greedy chiefs who are selling their birthright to the Chinese. The Gov has to come and help save them from all these self imposed problems yet when other ethnic groups call for help from the Government, this Kumasi guys will be all over the place heaping insults and calling them names. It is a common knowledge that all of the infrastructure the railways, state transport, golds mine, universities, Opoku ware & Prempeh that contributed to make Kumasi what is it are Government's.
By default these ethnic people are lucky with abundant natural resources and good climates yet, they love to short cut to any achievement, is that not laziness at its highest level? And they have the guts to call people who migrate to their land to work hard in sweat names. Common Guinea fowl project to help others who are not lucky like them sent these greedy guys ablaze. President Mahama should leave the Chinese for these mouth mouth people to deal with them themselves. The Government cannot change any chiefs mind-set; especially those who who believe money is everything and would kill for it. The truth is, these foreigners will still get to bribe them and come back. It is a waste of Government resources. Can you imagine if it was the Volta or the north that allowed Chinese to invade their land by bribing their chiefs? These Kumasi guys would have set Ghana alive and ask that president Mahama be burned alive.

All developments are centered in Accra the so called capital (suckers)which has nothing to offer the country and have even planned to build another International Airport in Accra. Oh what a country. Unless Ashanti chiefs mobilise themselves as a kingdom and knock some sense into this so called King Ashanti will continue to rot. Kumasi airport is national airport which must be rehabilitated out of national coffers!.. If I were the Asantehene, I would exert some authority to have some of these things done, and also help to investigate corrupt practices which may have prevented past efforts from coming to fruition.. I think our Chiefs can partner with government to help curb corrupt practices in their regions!

The way people think and post messages on this forum is very reflective of what is happening in Ghana.
We turn to blame the leadership for incompetency and unpatriotic behaviour . But look at how hell has broken loose among ourselves, simply because some people are calling for an international airport to be built in Kumasi.
We shouldn't forget that Kumasi is the second city and Ashanti region is the most populous region in Ghana so it make perfect and commercial sense to build an International Airport there. To do otherwise is politically and economically suicidal. Apart from Accra and Kumasi, there is no other city in Ghana that can sustain an international airport for now.
In view of this I want Ghanaians of insulting each other for no reason and put their heads together and make the right choices that will benefit all from North to South and West to East.

These are all factors that are taken into consideration and for this reason, the airport must be shut down or runway 02 be exstended even if into a hard untarred surface. Ladies and gentlemen, avoid traveling during the validity of the Notam. The aircrafts flying into KSI are not small Cessnas or pipers, they are medium-sized birds and with the callousness of the authorities, I would shudder to think of the consequences of bad short field take offs and landings even though we are trained to do so perfectly.

Ghanaian's always wants to shift blames for their failures. NDC is in power and thus must fix all problems. stop looking back. Failure to fix this may lead something else.

Everything is being damaged because NDC is useless. The best thing they know how to do is to misuse the taxpayer's money. They are all thieves, no one among them has brains in their big coconut head. Someone like Asiedu Nkatia is such a fool he insults all the men of God in the country and then plan to send them to Israel, as if God is sitiing on a stool in Israel waiting for them. Little do they know that God is in Ghana and everywhere. Only fools in NDC think God is only in Israel, nkwaseafour ara kwaaaaakwa.

I am surprised that Kumasi, the second largest city in Ghana does not have a world class airport- I mean not that Kotoka is world class, but something similar to Kotoka should long be in Kumasi by now...

I think rehabilitation of this airport should be part of the better Ghana agenda, and should be one of the TOP priorities of this administration- it will open up the Middle belt of Ghana for more tourism, flow of goods and services- it is really a national shame, if the airport at Kumasi reflects that picture---- Eeeh Ghana!

After Kumasi, Northern and Volta Region need world class airports to open these areas for easier tourism access- and more cash flow to the citizenry there= more development too!

The last time this happened in Kumasi, some of us thought it was shut down for maintenance. Why so again?

For how long would we continue to spend productive hours shuttling between cities.
