Lawyers are liars and part of the cause of our problems. Many of them are corrupt and make useless noise. Look at the parties and see those who make useless noise because they know some loopholes in the legal system.

Amidu's statements are a confirmation of what we all know; but a country needs LAWS and lawyers to stand on her feet. This explains, in sum, the divergence from our principles and it is very regrettable.

When Kwaku Baako informed us about the atrocities of Kwesi Pratt during PNDC Regime, some of us did not believe until the truth was confirmed during the NRC. Kwesi Pratt is the most dangerous Journalist Ghana had ever have, he had the gut to recommend his fellow journalists to be executed by PNDC. Pratt even recommended Baako to be killed by the regime, thank God Baako was instead touchered violently and severely but his life was spared. This is what Kwesi Pratt can do. Now Pratt is a secret agent to NDC and US Embassy in Ghana. May God forgive Pratt and spare him the untold evils that will come upon him and his generations. The souls of those journalist killed through Pratt's recommendations to PNDC will never forgive Pratt. Now Pratt has the guts to take Diplomatic Passport and smuggled his weak-headed children to work at the Ministries under Mills NDC, may God forgive Pratt and his dependance and spare them of the evils ahead of them...

It would appear that those in control of the NDC, for the time being, were bent on excluding other bona fide members of the Party who may wish to lay democratic claims to who becomes the next flag bearer of the Party by excluding them even before the mortal remains of the demised President were interred. It is also symptomatic of how political party elites in Ghana and Africa worm their way into the confidences of persons perceived as likely to ascend to power positions for purposes of eventual personal economic gain at the expense of the generality of the mass of Party members and the Nation which every President swears to serve under the Constitution...

May be you did not think of probity, accountability and rule of law at that time. Could others point fingers at you for being part of the problem?.

Thank you, Martin. I admire your courage and belief in honesty, social equity/justice and good governance.

It is sad you are in this part of the world where people exhibit so much indifference to what happens to the socio-political fabric of the country, even if it is being wrecked by a few privileged, greedy and self-seeking individuals, who unfortunately occupy positions of authority and power.

Again, in a country where the average voter does not understand the value of his/her francchise and therefore gets bribed and deceived/tricked to vote for nothing, we cannot have hope in the future verdict for constitutionalism and democracy in Ghana.

God Bless you, Honorable Martin Amidu and may you continue to give us good counsel/inspiration and be the lone voice of conscience and truth in this country. I am confident you are gradually winning souls.

Look.all the societal ills that Amidu has outlined were frowned upon by our Elders of years gone by.
The personal attributes of honesty,sincerity, call to duty,and service to the community and the nation at large, were the basic requirement for membership of society!You did not necessarily have to be a lawyer to adhere to these ideals which enabled our societies to function. There was unconditional compliance for value system as well as total for establised authority.
To these charges that Amidu was addressing,all these 'pious' words and exhortations, can best be described as mere music to the ears.
Unless some sort of 'Jihad' is unleashed on this this country,this new crop of lawyers will do worse things than their predecessors did.
Btw, how many in this graduating class gained entry,and have progressed through the Ghana Law School solely on merit?

Center to all this corruption now is the ewe tribalism that has a stranglehold on the ndc and now most of the state agencies that are to combat this menace. yes corruption exists in all countries but ours has become more notorious than the nigerian , during kuffuor's time it was know he and his cronies would try and secure a 0.5 to 5% commission now ndc is known for not less than 20% going up all the way to 200 300 or even 500% . loans achieve even parliamentary approval are withdrawn as business wise it just doesnt make sense. the civil service especial ministry of finance has turned into a money grabbing arm twisting mafia that up to 3 years ago would frustrate any endeavor undertook en if one would not pay , in short the process would move at a snails pace . the last couple of years if you dont pay your files and docs would go missing or you would eventually be accused of defrauding the state or some other fabricated heinous crime and end up with the bni , police or some other agency of repression fighting for your life. in short would take by force from you what you did not willingly give.Some now advocate for JJ methods of dealing with this system of doom, but rawlings style of governance can never come back as the revolution propaganda and media hype was nothing but a sophisticated cover and camouflage of the ewe persecution of the Akans mainly the ashantis as by the end of the Acheampong era most govt institutions and factories were being managed by Ashantis, today most are in the hands of northerners , Gas and ewes so to clean up the babies and fruits of the revolution with another is impossible , the only solution is now a civil war . now tribalistically speaking without being accused again of chauvinism or Akan nationalism we have a situation whereby this alliance of the ewes , part of the gas and northerners , that is less than 15 % of the population by varios means of election engineering , rigging divide and rule now are looting as quickly as they can all the wealth of the nation as they know this can not last forever . unfortunately when they are done we shall be left with a war and no future for our children due to our own laziness to see the truth for what it really is . here is a govt so busy with their cover up for the SADA that not a single minister or leader to come out this Easter with a message of hope as their hearts are filled with so much evil and hate . yes this govt will leave one day for sure despised and hated by the people , never to come back again.
