CNN) -- The Kenyan Supreme Court ruled Saturday to uphold Uhuru Kenyatta's narrow victory in the country's presidential election, dismissing a challenge by his chief rival.

Kenyatta, the son of Kenya's founding leader, won the ballot this month with 50.07% of the vote.

His main rival, Prime Minister Raila Odinga, who got 43.31% of the vote, had challenged the outcome in court on the grounds that it was flawed and marred by technical problems.

As the nation awaited the verdict, anti-riot police guarded the court in the capital of Nairobi while crowds hovered nearby.

Authorities stepped up security nationwide, and warned that gatherings are prohibited.

Last week, the nation's highest court ordered a review of the results of 22 of the more than 33,000 polling stations after Odinga's lawyers said they had found discrepancies.

Going into partnership with a privately owned company is good but the following are the issues to be looked at.
1. SADA contributed 15 million cash as share holding in Asongtaba.
2. Asongtaba contributed 25 million in what ever form as their share of share-holding.
The question of SADA's contribution does not agitate my mind because i believe the cash has been paid over to Asongtaba for current and future investments.
My problem is how Asongtaba's contribution was calculated to arrive at 25 million. Was it valuation of goodwill? was it revaluation of assets whereby the revaluation surplus was capitalised? Was it creative accounting that was used to arrive at profits which were eventually shared out as rights shares to the existing shareholders?
If Asongtaba contributed cash as their shareholding then, we have no problems, but if the afore questioned were used to arrive at the valuation, then SADA has a problem, because Asongtaba may just be using only the 15 million to run the project and yet share 60% of the profits.
Professionals should be used to establish the facts of the case.
In the case of 32 million on tree planting, the facts are not self evident and needs further probing.

The Northern Regional Ministers do not have the right to do the investigation. This is tax payers money and that is why the Legislative Body should come in immediately.

The Executive or the Judiciary arms of the government do not have anything to do in this case. The tax payer is sick and tired of these nonsense which is setting the country back. Research has proved that people who once thought that they were victimized turn to victimize others in alarming proportion when they grab power. It is a good idea that the government is going to investigate the guinea fowl controversy. But my question is why the government selected Regional Ministers from his party to conduct the investigation? There will be no truth in this since the government gave the money for the project upon the approval of the Parliament. If it has come out that there is some misppropriation tnen not only the governing side should investigate. The investigative members should include other party members in parliament eg: NPP, PPP etc. to shed more light on the issue at stake. Therefore the government should think twice about it. NO ONE MAN SHOW!!

Instead ministers to "interrogate and discuss" It appears the ministers aleady have their share of the cover up booty and they are going to discuss what to do.
