President of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) Samuel Doe Alobia told the media after the meeting: “We are taking him (President Mahama) for his word, if our Council takes the appeal and we postpone, then later we realise that the promise is not fulfilled, then we’ll later advise our selves”. ALOBIA HAS BEEN BRIBED BY MAHAMA TO CONCEEDE. JUST WATCH, IN LESS THAN 3 MONTHS, THE TEACERS WILL STRIKE AGAIN. MAHAMA WILL BREAK HIS PROMISE. THE BEST WAY TO DEAL WITH EDUCATION IN GH IS GIVING THE REGIONS AUTONOMY. THE REGIONAL MINISTERS, REGIONAL EDUCATIONAL MINISTERS MUST TAKE OVER.

EDUCATION MUST BE DECENTRALIZED. ALLOW THE REGIONS TO ADMINISTER THEIR EDUCATIONAL MANDATES. FOR E.G IF WESTERN REGION WATS TO HAVE SHS UP UNTIL 3 YRS, ALLOW THEM. IF CENTRAL REGION THINKS SHS MUST BE EXTENDED TO 4 YRS ALLOW THEM. WHEN THERE IS A STRIKE, IT WONT AFFECT THE ENTIRE NATION. THIS WILL BREED COMPETITION AMONGST THE REGIONS AS WELL. THIS IS WHAT GOES ON IN NORTH AMERICA. STRONG, INDEPENDENT REGIONS WILL MAKE A STRONG , UNIFIED GH.NOT VICE VERSA.

NPP TRANFORMED GHANA TO A MIDDLE INCOME ECONOMY WITH LIMITED RESOURCES BUT GOOD POLICIES. NDC IS WOEFULLY REVERSING THESE NPP ACHIEVEMENTS. GHANA'S CURRENT SITUATION IS VERY DISTURBING. WHEN THE HISTORY IS TOLD, IT WILL BE SAID THAT GHANAIANS WERE OFFERED FREE SECONDARY EDUCATION, IMPROVED UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE, SOCIAL HOUSING FOR THE POOR AND AN EGALITARIAN SOCIETY BUT 50% SAID NO THANK YOU. THEY PREFERRED ECONOMIC "WOYOMISATION" , PHANTOM DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS, PHILANDERERS FOR LEADERS, MACHIAVELLIAN DISRESPECTFUL CORRUPT LOUTS AND A VISIONLESS EVIL GOVERNMENT. Are you really satisfied with the hollow promises of Dumso mahama? However, make sure every promise is put on paper or he would fuck you up again, he's not somebody you can thrust.

What at all is wrong with Ghanaian leaders, both politicians and civilians? There should be a comprehensive mechanism in place and the committment to follow through with the promises so this 'dum sor dum sor' attitude of teacher strikes will STOP.

We can run GES like loose village square cantata group. Better management, high discipline, insistence on quality and work for pay are needed.
Teachers seem not to be under anybody's authority and leadership. Standards are so low that they are almost non-existent. Supervisory functions in GES have been thrown overboard. Many teachers lack the qualities to be teachers and these should be relieved of their engagement in GES. Let qualified and competent teachers competent to enter and compete to be retained in the GES.
