It is rather unfortunate that teachers in this country, the custodians of knowledge, have always been treated with disrespect and disdain when ever it comes to issues related to their conditions of service. The country's political leaders, past and present, are all guilty in this matter. It is no secret all that when it has to do with better conditions of service for the parliamentarians and the president, it is done with a dispatch, but when it is teachers, then suddenly, there is no money, and reasons must be given to just such a position. But how long must this injustice be allowed to go on?
