  The mayor must have given you guys options and you need to negotiate out all good options before resorting to this suicide. Please think it over.

Chief Nii Addo should note that if govt is not providing housing for ghanaians does not mean ghanaians should put up houses at unauthorised places sanctioned by chiefs like himself who are only interested in creating slums and enjoy seeing others suffer when there is a heavy downpour of rain.   No one should sit down for someone else to come and demolish what they have built with their life savings without some compensation. Especially since the Government officers sat idle for the structures to be built without permits and on flood zones. The people should be relocated at Government expense.

  It would appear that those in control of the NDC, for the time being, were bent on excluding other bona fide members of the Party who may wish to lay democratic claims to who becomes the next flag bearer of the Party by excluding them even before the mortal remains of the demised President were interred. It is also symptomatic of how political party elites in Ghana and Africa worm their way into the confidences of persons perceived as likely to ascend to power positions for purposes of eventual personal economic gain at the expense of the generality of the mass of Party members and the Nation which every President swears to serve under the Constitution...

  We all know when you were are building on street lands but the mentality is that once it is built, it would be hard for the authorities to pull it down and so we go ahead and build these houses illegally on lands that are marked for roads and street. And if we do not put a stop to it. There would be no roads and streets to our homes.
  Leave the mayor to do his work if only the buildings are illegally built and or are sitting on lands not meant for houses.
  Only in Ghana that these things happen. Go to Abidjan, they have roads and utility polls mounted in all areas where lands are yet to be developed but Ghana, oh Ghana when shall we see the light.

Instead of negotiating the best interest of your people with the authorities to enhance social and environmental advancements for the people, he is rather making empty threats- ' is this an 'all die be die'?(the chief is doing the 'Akufo Addo'. No wonder Accra smells and does not befit a capital city because of the block-head attitudes like this idiotic chief. How could people build on restricted public areas for development and basic community amenities i.e water tracks, schools, roads etc. Does this Sakaman chief consider environmental and public health issues of his people?

Just look at what the expatriates and some of our local business community are doing around Accra Airport area. Impressive. If the poor want us all to live in scum, then we the so called elite, progressive people, middle class and optimistic Ghanaians should pick up arms and fight these illiterate poor folks to death!!! Accra is our only hope. Kumasi, Tamale, Ho, Suyani, Cape-Tadi and all other regional capitals are hopeless places...period...fact...!

  This is what happens when we put visionless people as chiefs. Ghana is not a monarchy state. If the people have built in water ways then it should be demolished. Is the chief saying because a thief succeeded in stealing another person's goods, it has become his? This chief must come again. He is afraid because he sold the land when he shouldn't. The people whose houses will be demolished should go after the chief for selling them the wrong piece of land. Furthermore, fellow citizens, anytime you intend to buy cross-check with the appropriate agencies. Also stop building at night and odd hours at the blind side of the authorities. You may not get any compensation if you built wrongly. Let's help the authorities beautify our cities. The Sempe Mantse must call this Sakaman mantse to order. God Bless our Homeland Ghana.
