Teachers and non-teaching support staff at all levels of the educational system constitute the real backbone of education in Ghana. Make them all happy. Don't just give more than decent salaries and lucrative benefits to legislators and political appointees only.
Why does Okudzeto Ablakwa, a known thief and a former Deputy Minister of Information now tipped to be Deputy Minister of Education, who recently chartered a commercial plane from Accra to the north just to get married and was reported to have US90,000 and Ghc200,000 in his vehicle at one point, be one of the very few enjoying life at the expense of the real front line personnel in the economy? John Dramani Mahama, condone the thieves and your days are certainly numbered! Give the education personnel their fair share of the national pie. So much injustice!

Hundreds of negotiations have been trampled upon by the gov't.So what makes this meeting positive? Now that the iron is hot a trap has been set.Thinking teachers and colleaques in education are so pesuasive and poor, such meetings for so-called negotiation is similar to a business transaction as Kwame Alovi testified.Meals will flow like river Jordan and pregnant envelops will grace the ocassion. We do not expect to hear nonsense from our leaders this time on monday. They can eat greedily with both hands, but they can never sell our integrity and destiny.

Teachers and doctors' unions have become strike-happy since Mr Mahama took office. They see him as one who does not want to offend people. Therefore, they are coercing him into yielding to their demands by threatening the nation with strikes. They do not care about the implication of their demands on the economy and how they affect other sections of the society. I think the best way to stop that is for the government to build more teaching colleges to flood the market with teachers in the future. Until then, teachers will continue to use strike actions to demand more from the government, whatever Party is in power.

ndc has succeeded in only one thing and that is the creation of a pre-war atmosphere in anticipation of a supreme court ruling against them, they go around taunting all not only the npp just like gadafi husein and gbagbo did before they met their downfall. war is today about logistics and in a time of peace they cant even give electricity and water for weeks on end . how do they think they can win anything with an army which is on the level of trigger happy gang bangers riding around with their legs hanging out of pick up trucks . everything they claim to have organised except thieving has failed miserably from the 15 billion chinese load to the 30,000 stx housing . they provoke the decent silent majority everyday with their fool bravado, corruption , lies and tribal selfishness of the ewes and northerners . they keep challenging us and very soon we shall take them up on it , idiots
