Blame JJ and NDC. They have intentionally made it so. They have ruled Ghana the longest about 25years and this is what they have to show for? It is NDC plan to make sure that most of the people are not enlightened , educated and exposed to better things. You will votes for the same foolishness if you don't know any better. NDC will win most of the elections if this 46% is not reduced.

Education sector,it is also not true that more than 46%of Ghanaians are illiterates.the Bishop should check his statistics.the problem we have is the high cost of education materials and school fees. Some will argue that we are lacking nationalistic teachers and our greedness in quick cookies for our selfish interest from both young and old .This is a serious matter let's come on board to save our schools from total collapse,,,,,

Acheampong, a young Kwahu man from Kejetia comes to Takoradi and applies for a job as a Messenger at Port Authority in Takoradi. The Port Authority committee were just about to offer him the job when they discover that he is illiterate. They decide for many reasons that it would be inappropriate to have an illiterate Messenger. So Acheampong leaves and decides to forge a career in another business. He chooses to sell plastic goods and fish door to door. He does well and soon is able to buy a car and later, to open a Fish cold store, and then a second. Finally he is ready to open 5 more stores and so applies to the bank for a loan. But when the bank manager asks him to sign the contract, it was obvious that he could not write. Shocked to discover that this successful young man had little education, the bank manager says, "Just think what you could have been if you had learned to read and write."
"Yes," says Acheampong, "I would be messenger at Port Authority in Takoradi."
Money is power but wisdom is a defense.Tyson the Heavyweight boxer lost most of his money because he cannot read and write.Wisdom create jobs.

I do agree with bishop that more than 50percent of ghanaians are illiterate after 56yrs of independence mainly because they have refuse to educate themselves hence it's very difficult for government policies to work properly.whiles we thank the british to have given us and left us with good education in english which is spoken globally we ghanaians have not taken advantage of the english language, apart from Britain,America, canada,Australia and new zealand ,ghana has the best accent in english and no wonder our teachers go to libya, china, nigeria and many places to teach english.when i was in primary you got purnished when one spoke in akan ,we spoke in english but today we have about 600 private fm stations who broadcast only and purely in twi with jokes ,no more additional labraries than the one's before 1957,we have no more writers because we dont read and the country is slipping back to where illiteracy is the main stay of sociaeconomic and political activities.Government should come out with policies to regulate the fm radio stations not only broadcast in twi but in english as well, encourage free adult and kids education ,put up more labaries in town and cities and encourage reading and story writing, upgrade all polytechnics into universities to allow more admissions both local and foreign students because as visas acquasition and high fees of schools in europe and the Americas become difficult to students education institutions in ghana seeks to benefit from these both local and foreign students hence we have about 70 ,000 nigeria students in ghana who are schooling contributing to about one billion us dollars to the economy.

People of Ghana this is exactly what Mahama and his corrupt NDC wants. To keep the majority of the people stupid, divided and rule them for life.
This is an organized conspiracy by Mahama and the NDC against the people of Ghana.
NO free SHS, but today we read a whopping 245million cedis cannot be accounted for.
We wake up to hear a whopping plane load of our has been found in Turkey,
a whole 51million GHC has been dubiously handed over to Woyome, tell how in the world do we expect to have water, power, gas; NHIS and our needs go on and on.
The naked truth is that there is an organized conspiracy against the people.
We must thank God and pray for Akufo Addo, Jake and Dr. Bawumia for His mercy upon them as well as all those that are being bold to hold these corrupt and incompetent government accountable.
We must be bold to say no to a cheating and dishonest government.

Pepeni has killed Ghana not only his former boss mills, slowly more and more people including sekou realize a radical solution draws closer . instead of sending hannah tetteh to flirt around with more toxic international organizations to further worsen the situation he should turn to the true partners of the nation , the people and task everyone to try and produce surplus . 25 million people at just a dollar a day makes all the difference instead of being strung along by chinese , catholic church , koreans, european union or whoever in sheep's clothing appears . the govt should ensure their efforts dont go to waste like we see every year farmers crying because they have to throw away their surplus . work on the unity of the nation like mills did instead of copying kuffuor's/ gen. acheampong's style and bringing in only his idiotic herdsmen who have no idea about anything talk less of inspiring the people. study how hitler in less than 7 years turned germany from the laughing stock of europe and the "made in germany" sign of non quality trash goods into the superpower of the continent which it remains till today despite the hate propaganda. self reliance is the key and determination to never surrender. our people mobilized the continent in the fight against colonialism and now its time to mobilize again for a better economic tomorrow for our children even if we die in the process . we are not afraid are you?
