The issue of over excess in government expenditure in my view, is an issue that should be looked at without the partisant mindset. Let us face it,this is one of the characteristics of developing economies where govenrments are expected to fix every little problem facing its citizens. We see workers going on strikes and demanding increases in wages and salaries in the midle of the year. Just yesterday, one of the tv stations showed a clip of the school for the deaf with the roofs of some of its buildings ripped off as a result of a rainstorm. This calls for urgent steps to get it fixed. All these require funds outside the budget. The excess expenditure should not be too much of an issue but rather whether the spending has benefited the intended target.Let us begin to reduce the pressure we put government to do everything for us and the problem will be half solved.
