If this day and age anyone believes that Israel is a holy place when the Israelis are forever tormenting the indigenous population i.e. the Palestinians, then I'm sorry to say that Ghana is doomed. It's not doomed because of a lack of prayer but because of the primitiveness, ignorance and perhaps the empty-headedness of people who seek political power for it's sake.
In case most people were unaware, the reason why churches are springing up all over the place is that in these harsh economic times, the ignorant masses are vulnerable to exploitation. The churches are not springing up to guarantee heaven to the exploited but to amass wealth at their expense. Pastors are among the wealthiest people on planet Earth. Who can blame them if the masses are thronging their churches like sheep to slaughter houses?
The troubles we have in Ghana stem from the fact that unfortunately the politicians we been having for decades havn't been selfless or knowledgeable enough to be of help to the masses. Politicians are always in "business" for monwy and power aided and abbeted by their sychophantic followers.

If Christians want to go to Jerusalem or Rome, fine; if Moslems want to go to Mecca, fine. But for the government to sponsor any of these two sects to their Romes, Jerusalems or Meccas is the height of stupidity. The so-called pilgrims must sponsor themselves and NOT the taxpayers.
There are so many things the money for such frivolous trips could be used to better the lot of the citizenry.
