We are our own enemies.THAT SUMS UP THE WHOLE THING.It's never too late to change, and change is necessary in every success equation. If the man could not suggest this idea he is putting forward now, that does not mean it would not be beneficial to Ghana, should we consider, study, refine and confine what would be beneficial to us out of it.THE MAN IS VERY,VERY WISE AND BRINGING AN IDEA THAT COULD SOLVE THE CURRENT AND PAST PROBLEMS.Therefore,in my judgement,we should consider and find a way to study and impliment it.At least,it would worth a try if we make our mind to address the problems that has since time immemorial bewitched us.The "Energy Crusader" has just said:POVERTY IN GHANA IS SELF-IMPOSSED.HE IS ALTIMATELY RIGHT.We have to come out of our comfort zones to tackle the problems at stake if we are planning to make any impact and change our circumstances. We do not have to rather sit on the fence complaining about things that do not solve any problem for us.We have to know that EVERY PROBLEM IS ENDOWED WITH LOT OF OPPORTUNITIES,AND OPORTUNITY COMES WITH CHICES.We have a choice here, either to follow his ideas or leave to rot so we remain in our vomit.GHANA HAS TO USE HER BRAIN,PERIOD.
MAY GOD BLESS GHANA AND AFRICA.

Now the question I ask is that, where have all those termites who are asking where Engineer Woode was, been themselves, all this time. Any discerning or enlightened person in this country would know Engineer Woode and the many fantastic things he has come up with.
These days only the fake clowns such as Mahamas frontman who is pawning some cheap laptops and making some outlandish claims to establishing a $10 billion ICT village in a country where 70% of the population havent even got toilets and running water where they live, are given recognition for the scam that they are selling to the people of Ghana.

Focus okay, and understand that our dear country is being sent backwards into the stone age unless our leaders keep abreast with the rest of the world!. Solutions are all around us same as Gid has blessed us with wealth in the ground The and above it. We are a rich nation and yet only a few after being voted into Govt to serve but instead Govt after Govt loot and loot and loot, see where it has landed us. Focus and do not be rude to those who think and offer sensible concrete suggestions. Also the constitution of Ghana must be changed this winner takes all politics is destroying our country and the rest of the nation is held ransom by politicians. Take a look around you people of Ghana.

So what is this "honourable Crusading Engineer" doing PRACTICALLY to help! In advanced countries such "experts would use their know-how to start a "project" and get investors involved! Take education for example, it was true the efforts of private and religious organisations which started the "crusade" of spreading formal education in the country! At the moment private schools and universities are the hot cakes after "Churches" in Ghana! An Engineer of such high calibre shouldn't have problems starting a "pilot project" to make his point! Always Govt. Govt. Govt. and the so so blame game won't lead us anywhere! A lot of people proppound theories here and there always and end up with their theorie alone in their backyard! A lot of people also criticize but also provide no concrete solutions or suggestions ; COCCRETE AND DETAILED PROPOSALS AND SUGGESTIONS COUPLED WITH INITIATIVES, THOSE ARE THE KEYWORDS- Take for example prophet/Pastor Sarfo the engineer with his "inventions" and initiative, he is not depending on govt. for his vision, whilst talking he is also "DOING" !!!!

You make it sound SO EASY, that once you have the KNOW-HOW you can start a Project without considering the issue of Capital. Well. this Gentleman has started several projects and has an Engineering Company that, in his Seventies, he still superintends.
In deed, when I had problems finding Replacement Parts for the Aging Equipment at my Factory, this gentleman was able to Fabricate these parts for me.
The kinds of INITIATIVES he is putting forward are Governmental and the BLUEPRINT he alludes to from the Nkrumah era is a NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN which was conceived in the early Sixties and includes the BUI DAM which after 4 decades is now being developed.
Tell me where in this world individuals privately do a 'Pilot Project' on a National Development Plan. I am sure that is not what you are doing in Berlin.
Please, when we want to attack such as you have done here, let't try to ask the right questions and ascertain the facts of the matter and after that you will have all the time in the world to attack and TALK LIKE THAT as is typical of your likes sitting in Berlin or where ever and, for some obnoxious and baseless reason, think everybody in Ghana is looking for a HANDOUT from Government or sleeping.
Tell me one place in Ghana, a VENTURE CAPITAL FUND or a BANK that is willing to give money for what you term 'PILOT PROJECTS' and I will go there tomorrow.
Come to Ghana with these beautiful ideas that you have and be part of the solution instead of sitting in the comfort of a country developed by ancestors not your own and talking down to people whose pedigree you couldn't ever match on God's Green earth.

Thanks a lot for "dressing me down" well, well! I'm not doubting the achievements of this gentleman nor yours or the other people of your pedigree( oh how I love this word!). Of course I don't match the pedigree of the people of your sort or guild, but I'll stay ignorant if I just "swallow" anything I read or hear ! I believe, I have the right to ask questions, however "stupid", so that I'll get the reply from people of your pedigree , who are better placed to put people like me on the right track! Please read your reply again, and share the thoughts again with the people of your pedigree , perhaps you'll understand my contribution! By the way talk to any well versed manager, economist or technocrat in any profession and ask them to explain what "Project(s)" means, after the "explanation" qualify the word with "Pilot", you would realize that your Factory was started as a "project" ! If I'm to expand this debate further, it would "blast" the dimentions of this forum although, I'm just a small ignorant labourer here in Berlin.

Prez Kuffour once advised Prez Mahama to gather courage and ask assistance from other neighboring African leaders for help on the country's energy crisis.Meanwhile, his presidency lasted for 8 consecutive years (2001-2009). And I quote Mr Woode, "two mini-hydro electric power plants which the state took delivery of have been left to "rot" at the Tema Port since 2005". Ghanaians, on this note I will rest my case. Selfishness and corruptions are at the forefront of our political leaders and if any political party in the country ascend to become the ruling party and does not put the country first regardless, such nemesis and reckless self-inflicted but easily solvable problems will forever derail us from being self-sufficient in areas like electricity production. President Kuffour saw the problem coming but what did he do? He ordered the two mini-hydro electric power plants an then lost his leadership in accomplishing what his intention was on the energy crisis he saw coming during his tenure as president of Mother Ghana (2001-2009). I finally rest my case. God Bless Our Homeland Ghana.

What would be wrong if Ghana to encourage solar energy usage decides to lift taxation on any solar energy equipment brought into this country. Just because the selfishness of some Ghanaians to have huge cutbacks did not exist they won't do it. Neither will they suggest it. PLEASE,STOP PUTTING THESE COPIED THEORIES IN THE NEWsPAPERS.
GHANAIANS ARE NOT EDUCATED TO SIT,WAIT, WATCH AND PRAY BUT TO WORK HARD TO BRING CHANGES,IMPROVEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT.
THIS FURTHER INDICATES THAT, THE EDUCATED HAVE UNDEVELOPED THE COUNTRY.
TODAY DOES NOT BELONG TO EDUCATED ''DERELICS''IT BELONGS TPO PRACTICAL APPPLICATION AND TO MAKE YOURSELF NECESSARY WHERE HONOUR CALLS FOR PROFRESS.
WE CANNOT GET AHEAD-FALLING BEHIND:

Why are some Ghanaians insensitive about what they write/say in debates?Mr Woode is telling us his opinion on how to solve our electricity problems but some "idiots" with no engineering know how are distorting his message with insults. All good thinking Ghanaian electrical engineers agree that the best answer to our electricity problems is SOLAR AND WIND POWER.Please people should STOP BLUNT arguments and leave it to the specialist. There are many Ghanaian Electrical Engineers with the expertise outside and they should be invited to come and help.(Although they are not recognized as Ghanaians by our Constitution).
