Africans and their leaders, particularly Ghanaian citizens, its leaders, its authorities and politicians should start to respect the benefits they get from emigrants in assisting and alleviating African people from lack of funds for developmental projects in infrastructure and other socioeconomic programmes. That is "Diaspora African"' power to build nations. There is the need to place importance on issues about emigrants or Diaspora Africans.

Bonds issued and sold to African in dispora might be good for governments to raise capital for invest but can be at buyers risk due to corruption and poor management of funds couple with threat of civil wars, anarchy, uncertainies, speculations ,inflation before and after elections which invariablely affect the economy and local currency negating any business investment.i invested 1000 usd in treasury bills in 2006 with 15 percent interest rate in ghana but got 920 usd back after the 2008 elections because political and economic threats before and after elections, until we change altitude and behaviour to the way we do politics it will be very difficult to raise funds from the dispora.

Good idea but won't fly unless you give them a say in the running of the country. Already they contribute in many ways to the running of the country but not recognised. Why would you put your money where you do not sow.

If our little savings reserves out of our netto-incomes in the Diaspora could support Ghana's economy whiles the huge part of our incomes are rather making Diaspora's guest countries richer & richer & whiles we're getting poorer & poorer instead.
Then, why are we still 'beating about the bush'?
If our govts. really mean business economically, they shouldn't treat Ghanaians in the Diaspora as 'outcasts' & 'prodical sons', but rather they should take us seriously!!!

When we come to help out and say the right thing you say we are too known... now you need the moneies. Don't worry, our families back home will get the remittances to survive and come and get the better health care when needed.

The despora bond per se is not a bad idea. The problem is that the proceeds of the bound will not have the control to sheld it from the government officials' chop, chop mentality.

We need the government to revoke the dual citizenship clause and make whoever was born in Ghana and has not renouced his/her Ghanaian citinship to maintain their full citizens. Why lose something you have not thrown away? Acquiring a different country's citizenship should not necessarily deprive you of your birth rights as a Ghanaian. Our close ties with Ghana will continue to be stronger if nothing official deprives us of that citizenship. I will be happy to buy bonds when I know my birth rights are preserved.

Your point could be ammended into a portfolio as one of his/her tasks to combat for our (voting)rights both home & abroad either you're documented or undocumented & also for those born in Diaspora of Ghanaian parents.
It shouldn't only be for our hard earned 'green-money' in the Diaspora flowing into the country waawaawaa for those there at the helm to chop am foofoofoo for us!!!

Right to vote, right to correct and prompt information, transparency, rule of law, the adoption of competent and forward looking processes and procedures which pertains in the diaspora, elimination of mediocrity, incompetence, ineptitude, sychophancy, corruption, would help to warm the diasporains to this bond. The NDC cannot deliver on any of these so this would be a longterm proposition. Once the structures are improved upon, come back with this diaspora bond proposition.

diaspora bond, very clever, as a gomoa i was thought a song which interpretes the catch of a fisherman is all what we need. he can go to hell with his person. take care of unilateral transfers alone. you may not even need loans. waste monies on foreign family affairs. they are all waste. today individuals are richer than most states. but we still waste money on simple associations like the un machinery, today the who has become a struggle between one richman and china.even america is pullng out gradually from these organisations. africans continue spending the little they have for personal egoistic reasons. like mahama will do everything to maintain such a heavy staff in geneva all becuase of his insolent nephew, geneva is rated one of the most expensive in the world. when the americans live on their own premises, poor gh pays foreigners at the front desk in rented premises continue your monkeyish smartness. i tell you God will continue to bless individuals who may take over leaderships all over the globe. look at all the mess in mexico, but today a mexican is the richest man on the planet. look at the mess in franco's spain and today a spanish is the third ranking in the world. continue your monkeyism, God in his own right time will establish things. he starts by creating a peaceful atmosphere as a God of peace not of chaos. he has given you the chance to serve your generations like pharoah. blow them by putting your hearts and treasures elsewhere. chase loans as monkeys chase bananas, even switzerland is scared of china. they only need to open one prison gate to flood your country overnight. smart african monkeys, i have never heard of the deathof a single chinese in a foreign land. they invade without a single pistol. open your eyes you smart monkeys before a yellow laughter if i should translate litterally a french expression.
