This Topic props up periodically, almost at regular INTERVALS,but NOBODY in the Leadership TAKES notice OR IS WILLING to tackle it!WHY is that?

Thank you, Mr.Mienza

It takes commitment from every body for this to be done. You are right about the IDs, address systems. It must begin with how houses are built in Ghana. We do things not in order at all. Probably the reason why it is difficult for the address system to happen. Transparency certainly is an obstacle. Most of these guys come to office with the aim of becoming rich overnight. They do not have the nation at heart. It takes commitment, honesty and above all patriotism to get this done. Other countries have done it so why cant Ghana?

This bogus NDC/Mahama just want the disorderliness to continue. Proper National ID is not their priority. There is no money for that. They will rather vote scarce funds to build statues.

Despite the fact that your article is interesting, you have to remember that in order to issue wide scale social security numbers, you need to address the problem of birthcertificates. You have to know who is born where and when, and affix a social security number to their name. And a point of correction, google does not map out streets. Google simple drives by on every single street that is named and mapped already, and simply videos tapes it, puts it in their data base, and thats how you have google maps. So the bulk of the work will still remain with the government to ensure that building permits are issued and strucutres that violate the building codes are demolished, and the streets can then be named with clear street signs. I could easily do this. This is a simple project to undertake. This can only happen if the leaders set their priorities straight.

Paa Nii, just let us focus on the import of the article which Mr. Mienzan simplified for all lay persons to identify WITH. By trying to punch holes into the author's excellent proposal, you rather exposed yourself as a lay person like myself.
Are you suggesting that existing houses which do not meet building codes will have to be demolished just because you want name and number addresses?
Note that social security numbers can be issued for any intended purposes after verification of certain basic requirements. I had a social security number issued to me when I was in Ghana to enable me get a student loan. This was to be my unique ID for the rest of my working life if were still in Ghana. When I got to the US, I also got issued an S.S. number after meeting the requirements established by the US govt; I did not need a US birth cert for that.
Also note that Google mapping is done using satelite / aerial imaging and not the drvie-by you stated. Google mapping, as suggested by Mr. Mienzan is only to serve as starting point and not the naming and numbering of the streets and pathways which have already been documented by Google. Note that Google has Ghana's satelite / aerial layouts whereas I am pretty sure our Ghana govt can not even retrieve its own lands department site plans and records.
Thank you.

Thank you for your time. Mr. Terkper there is a Ghanaian old parlance that goes like this"do not make your bed untill the woman comes" Ghana must have IDS and addresses. These will not help reveneue mobilization, it will help law enforcement to fight crime, and also streamline voting. MTU must help in this excercise like their counterparts in U.S. if you want and ID in US you do the following: you get your SSI card, then go to DMV as simple as ABCD. Ghanaian politicitians wake up from your slumber. The world is making mockery of your big English but unable to run your affairs. Perhaps it were better we did not gain independence then we can point fingers at the Brits for some of these common sense ideas. WHEN?
