While the govt cannot ignore or sideline these issues, the mindset of some Ghanaians has to change. They need to change their attitude toward insanitary practices. Some people has made it a habit to litter, defecate indiscriminately & dump garbage anywhere. How can we as people invite outsiders to invest in this country with such filth surrounding us? Why not build affordable housing for these people & build waste facilities? And make it mandatory for all citizens each month to do a massive cleanup like they do in Rwanda?

If the reporter is a journalist' then this piece is very badly written. Several sentences are tautological and the entire writing is immature.

"This plan was made more than 10 years ago but its implementation has stalled due to lack of political will"-yes they lack the implementation willpower that is why the AMA collects daily toll from the residents.

Yes, yes, yes the internet can fix all if Ghanaians living outside of Africa could truly network online and create the wealth to fix things in Ghana...no problem.
THINK! Was it not the internet that got the present president of the US elected twice now? was it not the networking online that got a dictator over-thrown in Egypt recently? If forces in China are attacking business institutions in the US now via the internet why can't Ghanaians living outside Ghana band together to uplift Ghana via the web?
Answer: because Ghanaians are too inward-looking, stuck on tribalism and false nationalism while drunk mentally on invader's past religions. Ghanaians in places like the US are "click" types. If you are not in their click(social gatherings) you will be ignored no matter how sensible your ideas are to help Ghana. Especially if you are a Black American (usually called "akata" by West African born Blacks now living in the US). Africa-born now living in the US are so full of false pride and bloated egos they dare not confess that AWAKE Blacks born in the US just might know more than themselves about how to help Ghana and the rest of Africa. I know 1st hand as I've wasted many years trying to make sense out of the illogical mindsets of Africa-born, now living in the US. Too selfish and self-centered a people to really be about uniting Africa.
Many can not read English well but will lie to me when it is time to do business with me. telling me they don't have the time as they are too busy to read anything.Be honest as being a fake only further hurts Africa and yourselves.
Cordially,

No wonder Accra is full of mosquitoes. Sanitation is a problem. It's rather unfortunate to find some of our countrymen living in such dire conditions. Politicians should empathize and find solution to create a healthy and a better surrounding for all. This can only be achieved if corruption is kept at bay by our leaders. The best the Government can do is to create another welcoming administrative centre in the middle of the country with restrictive settlement.
