Why don`t you reduce the salaries of the ministers, mps, dc and all political figures first.
Secondary, the custom officers could be better monitored and controlled by independant personnel, so that bribe taking by the officers can be blocked.
Thirdly, the natural resources like gold, diamond, bauxite, timber, oil must be in front handle according to the market prices to bring more money into the state koffers.
Fourth, all the bribes taking by the police, lawyers, judges, etc. must be treated as a criminal case to set up examples to Ghanaians. They will be encouraged to follow the laws of the country and at the same times if they don`t follow the laws, being forced to pay to the state.
Fifth, The income must be invested into job creation. Contracts, which bring a lot of foreigners like chinese, libanese, nigerian, etc. people into work in Ghana must not been simply allowed to create enough jobs in Ghana. More people especially the youth will have their monthly income to pay their debts or fix cost and at the same create perspectives. It will also lead to reduction of crimes.
If all these are properly checked and balanced, the economy of the country will raise to the advantage of Ghanaians and Ghana.
The intended measures placed is secure the rich man's position. The poor will be poorest.
All in all the government does not think about the average people. The leaders are our problems due to their selfishness.

This is only the beginning of your hardships and financial atrocities which will intensify in the next couple of months. The financial burdens will be so severe that you will even forget about this one and worry more about what your family would eat and drink and the crises with the NHIS to also intensify. My message is just so simple, “you get what you voted for, so shut up and put up with it”.

The rush to secure government vehicles when there is a change in the political party governing the country. Forgetting the billions of worth of contracts signed in the final days of the previous administration that amount to a massive looting of the treasury that we eventually sell our collective souls overseas to repay.
Ghana is one of the top destinations in the world for stolen vehicles, mainly luxury vehicles from the US, Canada and Europe.
Chances are you can get millions of dollars in business by delivering a brand new Mercedes Benz S Class worth about $100,000 to a politician.
Chances are you can give a local chief a car worth about $50,000 plus $20,000 cash for about $100,000 worth of land.
Why?

I thought the fuel subsidies were cut so they could invest in other sources of energy or something productive; instead the money is just being channeled into paychecks (SSSS). Instead of trimming government and making it lean and efficient we are instead increasing pay checks of government employees while reducing the purchasing power of most of the country due to the high gasoline and kerosene prices. How does this robbing Peter to pay Paul and reducing the overall purchasing power of the country save or grow the economy? This does not make economic sense.

How much will it cost now for them to get to work in a traffic that is jammed and going nowhere. And when finally they reach their place of business, the electricity is cut. It's a nightmare living and working in Ghana.
Meantime, Mahama is pleasing international money lenders and trying to look cute.
I was in Ghana last year when one of the many power failures hit international soccer match, and Anyidoho couldn't take it any more. He sacked the guy in charge. When Mills woke up from one of his many bouts of coma, he unsacked him. If we carry on like that, where are we headed.
Mahama must wake up and stop now the efficient running of our electricity sector. Mahama, imagine yourself running a business which depends on electricity. You have workers to pay and a hate landlord to pay and to go through constant short down all the time!
Can you for a minute put your feet into their shoes!!!!!!

Electoral fraud is corruption of democracy
(Support the fight against election rigging and corruption in Ghana)
Ghana Election Was Rigged. And possibly with help from the Electoral Commission. It is all fraud . It is all fraud. Election
rigging is illegal interference with the process of an election. Acts of fraud affect vote counts to bring about an election result, whether by increasing the
vote share of the favoured candidate, depressing the vote share of the rival candidates.
We must all come together to protest strongly against such act of fraud in Ghana and Africa. In a narrow election a small amount of fraud may be enough to change the result. Even if the outcome is not affected, fraud can still have a damaging effect if not punished or if the choose to ignore election frauds and rigging.
Election rigging as can reduce voters' confidence in democracy. This can lead to the breakdown of democracy in Ghana. Electoral frauds breeds corruption. Which makes it a crime and harmful to our economic growth. The future of Ghana depends on the kind of decisions we are making today.
The future and the destiny of Ghana belongs the youth. We must arise up against corruption and electoral rigging in Ghana, Therefore, I am asking all of you to come out to DEMONSTRATE MASSIVELY against election rigging and corruption in Ghana. WE MUST HOLD OUR LEADERS ACOUNTABLE for their actions. must we strive to achieve is to implant in our youth a desire to practise good sound morals and judgement.
We must be pro-active in standing tall and proud because of values that uplifts them and not degrades them. Now is the time more than ever to inspire a generation of future leaders in political fields . We must protest strong against election rigging .
To send a strong message to our leaders that the youth of Ghana cannot and will not accept any act of frauds in Ghana. Our youth all need role models that they admire and aspire to be like - let these role models rather be ones that are committed to positive change for all.
I know is going to be a difficult journey and very challenging and incredibly difficult at times, but it will also brought us tremendous honour to Ghana in the near future. !!!!!(WE MUST NOT GIVE UP THE PEACEFUL FIGHT AGAINST ELECTORAL FRAUDS AND CORRUPTION IN GHANA)!!!!!!.
We must encourage interaction, education and awareness on all levels of our natural diversity, promoting understanding and caring in society. Fostering the need for high standards of moral and ethical integrity, nurturing individual growth, and respect for others and a deeper appreciation for one's individuality. The freedom from victimisation and intimidation and the right to say NO We must fight against all types of odds in Ghana. Including CORRUPTION AND ELECTORAL FRAUDS. It is time for the youth of Ghana to say our bad corrupt leaders ENOUGH IS ENOUGH …. We cant take it anymore.
We must all do all we can to make ourselves heard and stand proudly as being pro-active. It is up to youth and the good people of Ghana now to make the choices. Let them count!!
WE MUST ACT NOW . WE MUST COME OUT IN TO DEMONSTRATE PEACEFULY AGAINST ELECTION RIGGING AND CORRUPTION IN GHANA.

ELECTION FRAUD IN GHANA.
-It's an attack on the very principle of free and fair election. Not just a fundamental democratic value, but a Ghanaian value. SAY BIG NO TO ELECTION FRAUD IN GHANA.
-I am calling on all Ghanaian youth including all political parties in Ghana to immediately launch a commission on electoral fraud to determine whether the Ghana Election Act and other Ghanaian laws are sufficient to protect the intergrity of our electoral system.
-There should be good standard for openness and transparency, and expect that all other poltical parties will follow suit.
-There should be an independent, fully -empowered association, alongside the Elections NPP investigation-and possible an investigation by the BNI- is the only way Ghanaians can begin to ---re-build trust in the Ghana Electoral Commission..
HELP SPREAD THIS MESSAGE. GHANA ELECTIONS WAS RIGGED. ELECTION FRAUD IS A CORRUPTION OF DEMOCRACY. SHAME TO THE GHANA ELECTORAL COMMISSION. SUPPORT THE FIGHT AGAINST ELECTION FRAUD IN GHANA.

Rosalyn stop your nonsense. You and I know that most Africans (including Ghanaians) do odd jobs in the U.S and U.K to pay for their education. Kwame Nkrumah was a dish washer at various restaurants and also sold pieces of coal he picked on train tracks to pay for his education. Nelson Mandela did odd jobs while in law school. Does this mean that Nkrumah and Mandela were not qualified to be leaders? Please stop your nonsense.

At a certain point in life, certain things have to be changed. Prices for certain products need to be increased and certain subsidies removed.
Nobody is disputing or challenging any economic decision. Rather, what people are complaining is the insensitivity on the part of the government and the decision makers for increasing the price of fuel from zero percent to 20 percent, without taking into consideration the plight of the ordinary Ghanaian and as such, spreading this increase over a reasonable period of time .
For example, 5% increase in every six months over a period of two years or a 10% increase every year for two years.
Such economic or 'price cushionings' can reduce the economic hardships on the people, but unfortunately, these are some of the techniques that decision-makers in most 'less developed or developing countries' are lacking.
The government should therefore reconsider this, and either introduce this increment or remove this subsidies gradually over a reasonable period of time.

People should get together and resources to do something on their own. Also departments should be able to generate income into the consolidated fund. The police department generate a lot of income into the treasury in Washington D.C. Washington DC has no natural resources but through ingenuity and little support from govt. run the city state. Govt employees who come here are only interested in per diem. Every body want to boss around. Empower the people. Streamline the tax system , insurance companies, banking system, ex gratia, bonuses, etc. The biggest killer of the economy is corruption and abuses in the system. If u didn't know the consequent effect of single spine implementation then it's a failure and somebody has to explain. U sacrificed the masses for the few by force middle income group. The ripple effect is wow.

The subject of the matter is energy of which if you don't take care will break your economy and develpment.I will give some few sources of energy,Gas,Water,Wind,Sun,Oil,Coal and Firewood.Out of these sources,we get Nuclear Energy,Hydroelectric,Solar Energy and so on but Ghana's Akosombo Dam is not enough to meet our Energy needs at all.The Thermal Plants which use gas and oil are also not enough.I think our attention should go to the ongoing Bui Dam and the Gas Plant projects to increase the energy supply which will provide electricity at the same time look up to Solar and other sources as well. There are new technologies coming out everyday,if we don't check our sources of energy in time we will end up increasing the prices of fuel everyday.Thank you.

I know I will take a lot of harsh criticisms for my comment but I just want to throw it out there.
The only reason the Ghana government is forced to explain fuel price increases is because the government continues to subsidize the price of fuel. We need to end this fuel subsidies once and for all. Let the Ghanaian pay the market rate for fuel. The initial shock will be very adverse and to some extent brutal. However in the long run the Ghanaian market will recalibrate itself and allow the forces of demand and supply to drive the price down or to a manageable level.
The current process is not sustainable. Subsidies only increase the appetite to consume fuel. When Ghanaians begin to pay market prices we will begin to see a decrease in consumption. Further, it will create avenues for Ghanaians to innovate in the transport sector. There is so much room for improvement in that sector its amazes me why Ghanaian investors haven’t jumped on it.
Full Disclosure: I haven’t lived in Ghana since September 1997.
