Let us look at Obama's government. He appoints competent people to responsible positions irrespective of party affilliation. He present nominee for Defence secretary is a Republican. There are other republicans in his party. That is the way forward. Appiah, your decision, if it is true, is a disservice to Ghana.

If NO & YES, your point is automatically Disqualified and PC is NOT making SENSE (even by your analysis). What would you say of Dr Kwesi Nduom too in similar circumstance some years back? Nation OR Party, the fight against corruptin & other Social Vices must GO ON, even if it's 1 /24m. PCA must remember that 'LITTLE drops of water makes a mighty ocean'. In this case he believed and is assured of (at least)a 2:24m/(1:12m) RATIO, in terms of Overall Population, and an even smaller ratio of about 1:70 of Ministerial pop. going by his possible judgement.

To me if you seek to redress corruption, the best way is to get among the corrupt lot, snoop on insider info and find ways to get the secrets out of the bag.

Playing very ugly divisive party cards is not taking us anywhere and I believe Mahama sees it that way, which is why he tries to extend his hand. It is my believe his corruption crusades are the tipping point of the president vision, and I commend him for that. So, how do we fight corruption in Ghana, PC Appiah? I am disappointed

What happened to the 5000 dollars that he alleged his own party took as bride to influence the sale of Ghana Telecom? Did he take them to court. Has president Mahama now realised that the NDC party is full of crooks and there is no one single person that can help him fight corruption? President Mahama is really disgracing the NDC and what is shocking is that you have the NDC members trying to defend the indifencible like the appointments of Oye lithur which is stab in the back of the late president mills.(still load shedding, water rationing, fuel prices up, people still dieing on N1 road etc? Isn't it sad that when your country needs you and shows you respect at this level, some people allow their party affiliations and parochial interests to cloud their vision? Surely if the president wanted to appoint Mr Appiah Ofori as an ambassador, representing Ghana, whatever the outcome of the SC case, the NPP would most likely have retained him. Somehow this political impasse is making us to see the real colours of some people we have always held in high esteem and respect.

My estimation of the Elder Statesman is signficantly diminished as a result not of turning down the president's call, but choosing to publicise it this way in the public domain. I used to think WISDOM resided in our older folks but we probably need a re-think of that "conventional wisdom". Shame Opanyin Ofori!
