Dodi island should be conmverted into a complete holday resort with first class hotels that can accomodate tourists.I took a trip on the Dodi Princess to the island and i was met with total disappointment.You get off from the boat and you are met by children holding your hands and begging for money.I believe strongly that turning it into a real hoiliday resort will be profitable.I hope the government and the VRA will seriously think about it.

Its better to use the $1.3 Million to make down payment for a new boat,than using that money to fix a burned boat.

We Ghanaians just like all Africans donn't believe in ourselves, why should not they build it but buy form outside.do we not see other nations making machines, cars ,etc by their own citizens.It seems we believe in foreign products to steal monies by 10%, that is why we are lacking behind.We can produce our guns yet officials want to kill that technology,a Ghanaian made a car in SUAME MAGAZINE SINCE 1960,still he has not got clearance to patent this product. Let me hear good innovative ventures and people support that idea and let us see made in Ghana products, initially they may not be of quality,but eventually we will improve .

I'm glad to hear that Dodi Princess boat will be back in service soon, $1.3 million seems a fair price for a complete refurbishment of such a beautiful boat. Refurbishment means jobs for Ghanaian citizens.

Cubans are driving cars made in the 1950's which they continue to masterfully repair and drive, Imperialism's criminal blockade of Cuba has caused the Cubans(60 percent of whom are Africans,) to be creative and self sufficient, a boat that was commissioned in 1991 has many more useful maritime years left.

Government should develop some education and small business programs to bring some dignity to the lives of the people on the islands, I intend to enjoy riding on the Dodi Princess in September, but I don't want to see begging children, they are too precious to be presented to the world as beggars in their own homeland.

It is good news to repair dodi princess but ghana needs more of these cruising ships or ferries for recreational,entertainment and fun if we really want to promote marine and water transport in tourism. We should many ferries on volta and one's which can travel from tema to elimina,takoradi ,abidjan,monrovia and banjul for holidays and tours ,as ghana is seen as tourist destination and gateway to west africa we need to link west africa capital cities not only by road and air transport but by marine also to grow our tourism ,when you visit countries like Egypt, Turkey,Uk,Holland,Germany,America and many more ferries and cruising ship are commonly used for fun,holidays , water sport and tourism ,so why cant we have the same in ghana to boost our tourism .

We should learn to support all things Ghanaian its our country importing will not help. This is the best new I've heard in this week. Turn it into some sort of holiday resort with an amusement park powered by solar energy of course . High rise hotels and make it beautiful. Lets turn it into a holiday island like Ibiza what do you all think? .
