All these tribes are one family. The Ashantis became a separate kingdom just around the middle of 1800s. Prior to that there was no kingdom as Asantes. All these tribe are one people. Look at the Fantes at Mankesem. They are extract from Brong Ahafo due to family fueds. Of course the Gas, the Ewes, Anwonas, and all the tribal groupings in the north are not Akans. But by the Wisdom (I think) of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah he brought all of up to form what we know as Ghana. Let us learn history so we will talk wise.

Haruna should tell us why Konkomba the second largest tribe and language spoken in the whole of the three northern regions is not spoken on Savanna FM a government owned FM station. Yesterday, I could not help but to silently agree with with my friend Odartey whe he said: a decorated monkey is still a monkey implying that no matter what you do to we wont change. You see, this is what we do as Northners and people insult us. Aren't there people from other tribes living and or working up north who receive bad treatment by we northners? I have always proven to my friends from other tribes that at least there is one northner who is different and that is me. I know that he is still growing up but for God's sake being that he is a Dagomba he should at least have relatives or friends in Ashanti Region and I believe none of them ever complained of feeling unsafe. In kumasi there is even an area called Dagomba line because the whole of that neighbourhood is dominated by Dagombas. Aside from that, Dagombas have worked on cocoa farms and in gold mines in Ashanti for more than a century and I don't know of any of them expressed feeling unsafe in Ashanti.
