It's a no brainer for the first time visitor to Ghana to throw his arms up in the air in disgust and complain about how much customer service sucks in Ghana. This conversation is so long overdue that many ghanaians who may have had a taste of quality customer service elsewhere in their travels around the world may have have already given up every hope of ever having that experience in the motherland. Poor customer service starts from the erroneous impression most ghanaian service providers have to the effect that they are doing you a favor with their service so you don't deserve any courtesy from them or any of their representatives and you have no right to complain about the poor service offered.
When we started dabbling into the socialist/communist ideology at the time of independence we lost the competitiveness of a free market economy provided by western capitalism to the monopolistic attitude of a socialist driven economy. We learned to idolize monopoly and dreaded competition to the extent that every competitor was considered the enemy that has to be eliminated by any means possible. With competition subdued or eliminated quality customer service is thrown out the window.
We are operating a free market economy now but the service providers encounter less competition by default or by design as old habits die hard. The solution to this national disgrace is to begin teaching customer service in the school curricula, what customers should expect from their service providers and removing the bureaucracy, red tape, bottlenecks, cronyism, and official corruption that drive away competition in business. There must also be established a national regulatory body that would streamline the activities of service providers, monitor customer service abuses and if necessary impose sanctions and or fines, Ghanaians seeking quality customer service, regardless of their position on the social ladder must learn to take their turn in the queue on a first come first served basis only.No disorderliness and no jumping of the queue for whatever reason.
Quality customer service will improve business and the economy and help in the realization of our dream of attaining an upper middle income status in the foreseeable future.

Hello,I am a former YWAMer who did my DTS in 1990 in Honolulu Hawaii. I am now mairred and my husband has never had a DTS. We have been praying and thinking about a Crossroads program as we are 48 & 51 years old, with no children. We are American's. We are also called to serve in Half Assini Ghana, the far Western region of the Nzema people. We are in the process of applying with Pioneers mission org but are considering a DTS-or Crossroads with YWAM for the training and also to be able to be YWAMers and do further training and study as God directs us. Are the directors of your school Ghanaian or American? I read a little bit about them on your webiste and am wondering about that. What are the ages of the people in the DTS that you have in Kumasi? Do you allow older people like us to do the DTS? We have been to Kumasi several times and know some Christians in the region who go get training there with a specific denomination. Thank you for your time and God Bless,Bernie Hackett

Its a prevalent attitude in Ghana which needs to be addressed nationally and at the highest levels . About 90% of employees paid to deliver a service, especially at a point where they are supposed collect cash for payment always dont give back your due change . They pretend they dont have change or just collect the cash and keep it without any explanation, and when you dare to complain ,either you are insulted or given a contemptuous look as if you are cheap !!but my change is my change even if its one pesewa , so ANTRACK , teach your staff what to do and give them small denominations for change or round up your ticket prices !!!!! to stop Alfred from enriching himself at the expense of passengers

The flight was delayed and no one bothered to apprise of the situation, plus they were very 'brushy' and could not be bothered one bit. I remember asking myself is Asuma Banda was the same person talking about advancing business in Ghana. Pathetic!!!

I was in Kumasi the other day and went to their office at Adum to make inquirers to purchase a ticket to Accra. The girl was so rude ie sitting with her back to me from another desk. unable to answer or explain Antrak time schedules, and the worse eating whiles talking to a customer!! It was also obvious she was ON FACEBOOK and I asked her how do I compliant about her behaviour? She pointed for me to ring the number on their promotional leaflet. That was NOVEMBER 2012 and No one ever pick the phone. I have since STOP using that flight!!! Yes, Antrak Airline is the NUMBER CUSTOMER SERVICE PROVIDER AIRLINE IN THE WHOLE WORLD!

Antrak services to Takoradi is equally scrappy. I booked a Takoradi-Accra flight with Antarak and booked the return flight with Starbow. After three hours, I had to cancel the fligh due to some personal reasons. Starbow refunded my fare in full whilst Antrak charged me GHC40.00!
To worsen matters, I changed my flight from a morning flight to an afternoon flight with Antrak. I got to the counter to check-in, only to be met by a very rude staff who apparently had not effected the changes on their system. I have vowed never to fly Antrak again.
Starbow, please resume your weekend flights to Takoradi

Antrak is just not an option to me anymore...terrible customer service, terrible aircraft, terrible everything. I'm stuck to Starbow's jet experience and great service now.
