As if that was not enough, he has selected a celebrated defender of gay rights, Oye Lithur to head a ministry of gender rights.

Western powers that are insisting we recognize them and pour libations for and tell them how sorry we and our forefathers were for treating them badly, never did those things themselves when they were developing. Why should they saddle with with those "niceties", which they were unwilling to do until they have so much time on their hands and do not know what to do with it.

The problems are many. In Western countries, teachers, especially teachers in young grades, will come to school in men's garb for one week and then suddenly show up in women clothes the next. They are intent on blurring distinction between man and woman. Who wants that kind of confusion.

This is unlike smoking or corruption, or extortion of the churches of their members making them poor and poor. Or like heads of schools fleecing parents or government officials abusing the use of government vehicles or using state money for their personal interests. A sin is a sin only when it wrecks pain on others the same as a crime is a crime only when it inflicts loss or pain on others. Leave Nana Oye alone. She has explained her stand clearly without any ambiguity yet some are asking her to declare her stand. What stand should she take apart from being a protector of people's rights including homos? That does amount to promoting homo?

Imagine the same way, our society detest stealing, wee smoking, drug taking etc but those who indulge in these acts are human beings and their human rights must not be trampled upon.

How many times do we see these so called pastors, counselors, Bishops challenging the police to release or bail their wee smoking and criminal sons, daughters and church members after they have been kept in police custody for more than 24hrs just to preserve/protect their human rights which demand that they cannot be detained for more than 24Hrs without bail?

Well, Ghanaians, what do we say? A Gay activist is now given a ministerial position in government and endorsed by our partial parliament. Fathers and mothers must now do everything possible in their homes to nurture their children by taking closer look at their behaviours to avoid getting them involved in "gayism" and "lesbianism". This is because the minister appointed in the children ministry has emphatically stated her position to protect the activities of such uncultured actions in Ghana. We cannot sit down for our offprings to get involved in that "Sodom and Gomorrah" act to the annoyance of our Maker.

It is simply lack of intelligence and wisdom to think that Nana Oye Lithur, as Minister, will promote gayism because she advocates protection for gays.
In fact, any society in which vulnerable people are not protected is a backward society. Protection is not the same as promotion. For instance, if you advocate protection for the physically disabled, it does not mean that you have the intention to make people physically disabled.
The clergy and Christians who are campaigning for the rejection of Nana Oye Lithur are only displaying either their ignorance or hypocrisy. It can only be ignorance for a Christian, and for that matter, a Priest to be angry with someone who has dedicated her life to the protection of other human beings she considers vulnerable. The fact that, the vetting of Nana Oye Lithur turned out to be about her beliefs on gays and this has led to public debate on gayism is an indication that gays are indeed vulnerable.
There is no denying the fact that the Bible clearly abhors all manner of sins including homosexuality. But why we are apparently comfortable with other sins like extramarital affair – eg, sugar daddy, sugar mommy – stealing, lying, murder, gambling, extortion, divination and others, is because, we are big (not small) hypocrites.
Let us be reminded that, homosexuals are not the worst of sinners. We are all sinners in one way or the other. If God decides to punish Ghana for the sins of Ghanaians, it will not be for the sins of homosexuals only: it will be for your sins and mine as well.
Once you understand why you should have your human rights, then it must be clear that others also must have their human rights. You have your rights to life, freedom, safety and security – it is the same for homosexuals. Whoever thinks you have done something wrong cannot just jump on you and inflict punishment on you – it is the same for homosexuals. You deserve your dignity – it is the same for the homosexual. You may be employed in a position that your qualifications fit into – it is the same for the homosexual.
Let us remove the scale of ignorance and hypocrisy from our eyes so that we can understand the issues better.

Sometimes, l wonder how some of our people draw conclusions on issues. Almost the whole nation has risen against the appointment of Nana Oye because she stands to defend the rights of Gays. Hmmmm! Well, l totally agree that homosexuality is a taboo to us, theologically and culturally and we are right. However, what baffles me is the fact that the same Scripture that speaks against homosexuality likewise speaks against marital infidelity. Yet, we are silent on this great family-wrenching sin and rather expending our scare energies on trivialities like defending gays right (Not promoting it). Well, if Nana Oye is not fit for the ministerial appointment, then l submit that our President, Mahama, should also be deposed because he has proven himself to be very unfaithful to his wife. Defending the right, as it is enshrined in the constitution should not be mistructed to mean as promoting that cause.I rest my case.
