  I'm disappointed at the Members of the Appointments Committee of Parliament, for failing to ask tough questions. Their questions are superficial not demanding detailed and revealing responses; lacking penetrating follow up questioning, as if the Committee members don't have the time.
  
  For example, Dr. Naana Opoku-Agyemang should have been pressed to talk a little bit more about the nature of her intervention to improve the teaching and learning of science and math at the basic level.
  
  Those of us who have been calling for Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Information & Communications (STEMIC) education in Ghana would have liked to hear her talk about how she intends to go STEMIC.
  How is she planning to motivate teachers in rural Ghana to teach STEMIC?

How do you expect them to be motivated or care about their jobs and roles in preparing the future generation to face the next century of competing markets globally?

Is she rich already.Coming from lots of family money?If No then she will fill her pockets look out for her family and friends before any Ghanaian school child.Just read the interventions she outlined. The same old promises.She is not serious. Ghanaians are watching.

  Same phrase over and over and over: Oh Ghana! When will that dream come true. I do not know whether those include the under-trees schools. If you dont have school blocks and or the necessary materials, I think no amount of motivation will bring about meaningful results. To begin with, there is inadequacy of school premises in Ghana and that is where we must begin. She is just post-hungry and running her mouth for she nurtured "sex-for-grades" relationships as a VC of UCC.

  THE PUBLIC UNIVERSITIES AND RESEARCH INSTITUTIONS IN THE COUNTRY TO SECURE THE ECNOMIC AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT OF GHANA.

  GRADUATES IN ELECTRICAL, MACHANICAL; PETROLIEUM ENGINEERS AND NATURAL SCIENTISTS IN THE DEVELOPD WORLD ARE NOT EDUCATED AND TRAINED TO LOOK TO THE GOVERNMENT FOR THEIR LIVELIHOOD AND MERRY-MAKNG, BUT ARE CHARGED TO PROMOTE INNOVATION AS MEANS TO BRING CHANGES AND DEVELOMENT AND BETTER SATANDARDS OF LIVING IN THEIR VARIOUS COUNTRIES.
  
  ITS ALL ABOUT PERFORMANCE AND COMPETENCE OTHERWISE THERE SHOULD BE NO MORE ROOM FOR THE LAZY EDUCATED GRADUATES AND THOSE WITH PhD TITLES IN THE COUNTRY.
  
  DESPITE GHANA'S WEALTH IN MINERAL RESOURCES, OUR CITIZENS ARE AMONGST THE POOREST IN THE WORLD.

  Same old gimmicks, when are we going to bail the Ghanaian teacher from the archaic Lesson notes and replace it with a more friendly and modern way of teaching? We can go the white man's way; already prepared teaching guide guide with textbooks prepared in lesson format. Please do away with the condition of 'This is how we did it and therefore it should continue.' After all if you want different results do things differently. I hope our Prof. will listen to my voice and take a bold decision to cancel teacher's lesson notes and replace it with more teacher friendly way of teaching since lesson notes only wastes the teacher's time.

  When Nana assumes the Presidency after the Supreme court ruling, this lady shd be retained in the education ministry. She's very good. She does not deserve to be in Team B cabinet.

  I ope as minister of education, she will champion this,cause to make teachers have the pride of,place they deserve. A good example of how teacher motivation and empowerment transforms society and the economy can be seen from learning from The state of Arkansas under governor Bill Clinton in the 1980s before he later became president of the US.
  
  Working with unions and introducing reforms to improve teachers' conditions and their training lifted the state from one of the worst performing in the US (46 out of 48 on the mainland) to one of the best performing in education. The two have to go together. Raise their profile with the right incentives and require them to train and perform better.
