Imagine his first initiative that he announced sometime ago, that he wants to build houses or accommodations for teachers!!! Has he thought about the social impact, not to mention the cost involved.

In almost every village there is a school or two. And half a dozen teachers and counting. How in heavens name is he going to build houses for all those teachers? And what about maintenance of those building. I am afraid we voted for a dunce. Most people just went to the pools to go and vote against Nana. Well, what are you going to do, the guy has been demonized to nonsense. I also don't like him, but he is light years ahead of this fool.

He nominated Pelpuo to the Tourism and Creative Arts Ministry and the so called Ghana celebrities in the film Industry said he was the wrong person to head that Ministry and he succumbed to them by yanking Pelpuo from that nomination. When is this yahoo President going to grow balls and say No?

Minister Rashid Pelpuo is not the Right Person for Us - Socrates Safo

Film Producer Socrates Safo has told Citi news that Minister-designate for the Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts Ministry, Rashid Pelpuo might not be the right person for the job since he is not an industry person.

Speaking to Citi News, Socrates; a critic of the arts industry in Ghana says the best choice would have been a member of the industry.

“We as creative arts people are a bunch of delicate persons and if we are not handled well, it’s either we will confuse and frustrate you or you will confuse and frustrate us. So it’s about time that we get people who are in the industry to work for creative arts people; if you bring technocrats, lawyers, scholars, whatever you will create confusion in the industry. In the end the government will not benefit from the idea and the purpose for which it has established the industry.”

He says such a person will better understand the frustrations of members of the industry. According to Mr. Sarfo government should deal with people in the industry; “we are very open, we know what we want, nobody can decide for us”, he said.

He however lauded the President for moving the creative arts industry away from the Ministry of Chieftaincy.

Meanwhile; spokesperson for a group of creative arts members who paid a courtesy call on President Mahama last week; Selasie Ibrahim has told Citi News their biggest expectation of the Minister-designate; Rashid Pelpuo is to bring the various sections of the industry under one umbrella.

“We have too many individual groups for individual glory.”

Kwesi Pratt was emphatic in his condemnation of Mahama's structural ideas as if he (Kwesi Pratt) has blue print of scienctifically proven method to managing Mahama's PRIORITY PROJECTS. If you criticize someone'e structural design you should have equally or better alternative one to offer. What did Kwesi Pratt offer, nothing, but arrogance. He is rather confused because Mahama is enhancing some aspect of the old fasshion way of doing things in the ministries - throw all projects to them and hope there will be diligence.

There will be many infrastructural developments and projects implementations but Mahama did not designate co-ordinators for every project. That could be considered as waste and big government.

With this enhanced Mahama Priority Projects management system, accountability, transparency, efficiency and timely reporting will be diligent. Besides these senior politicians aspire for nothing other than legacy. Mahama will feel that he has total grip of managing the prpjects which are dear to his heart.

The man, Mahama, seriously wants to succeed, so if Kwesi Pratt does not understand "something" he should humbly enquire and he may be enlightened.

When Nana Akufu Addo said that if he won he would make his vice president, Dr Bawumea, chairman of the overseers of his free SHS project he promised some people did not understand him. This is how a serious leader who wants to do SOMETHING manages projects that are dear to his heart. Designate dependable co-ordinator.

Of course Mahama's priority pjojects fall under some existing ministries. There should be no conflicts. If Mahama is given the benefit of the doubt that he has common sense then we should appreciate the fact that he would put in place checks and balances as well as parameters for smooth sailing of his priority projects management.

I don't think Mahama is confused in his appointments.He may be guilty of not explaining properly what the functions of Ministers at the Presidency is. These guys are not responsible or duplicating the functions of the ministries. What they will do is provide an independent oversight function on the initiatives and projects that the ministries are accountable for.Ministers are responsible for delivering on their programmes. Thses guys I imagine will require from Ministers evidence,proof of what they are telling Ghanaians.Mahama's appointment may be an innovation in Ghana governance but it is not unheard of. For instance UK Government has an Office for Budget Responsibilty that provides an independent oversight function of what Ministers report.Lots of public sector bodies e.g. local authorities have similar client side units.

Really! Come to think of it, we should blame ourselves because we encourage those behaviours including corruption.

If these politicians knew they will be held accountable, do you think they will behave like this?

In the good old days, politicians would not dare loot the countrys coffers so brazenly like they are doing now because they know that would probably trigger a Coup d'etat.

Ghanaians should wake up and stop being cowards and demand accountabilty from government officials. Ghanaiains the the most educated people on the continent and so it amazes me why we let this go by unchecked. Take a look at Egypt and their uprisings. They have decided enogh is enough. Ghanaians should learn from that and consider themselves as Ghanaians instead of being a member NDC, NPP or what have you.

Wake the fuck up people. No wonder why we are called the dark continent. We will forever remain in the dark.

Since this glorious son of Gonjaland took office, since this true son of change took over the reins of government in Ghana, you Kwesi Pratt and your henchmen or masters in the being of the Awhoi Brothers have tried every trick in the book to cloud this regime with false accusations, stupid suggestions, idiotic criticisms of his appointments and all the false pretenses to spear head the fight against the fall and disappearance of the Awhoi brothers from the Ghana political scene. You Kwesi Pratt and your rouge Awhoi brothers have tried every maneuver to mislead, to obstruct, `to cloud and drag the character and dignity and experience, and vision and above all the qualifications of John Mahama’s appointees for so many weeks now.

If the Awhoi brothers have purchased your services and loyalty, if the Awhoi brothers have enslaved you, or even if you have lost your senses and dogmatically alter and push into the media what the Awhoi brothers dictate to you to spread and falsify John Mahama’s agenda, or even to ridicule John Mahama’s appointees, it’s time you are told in your face to shut up and listen to or watch what big brains can do. Dr. Atuguba is more qualified than you and your Awhoi Brothers together; he is more read, he has better experience, and he has researched Ghana and produces documents relevant to Ghana’s development and has contributed more to the intellectual growth of Ghana than you and Awhoi brother can ever deem about or even start to do. Your petit minds arena match to Atuguba\’s and his advice to President Mahama will not be diminished by feeble e minds and liars and crazy warriors of destruction and intrigue like you and Kwesi Pratt and the Awhoi brothers.

Who dare you Kwesi Pratt to say that John Mahama is confused? Who dare you challenge THE CHOICES OF John Mahama for his cabinet? Who dare you argue with John Mahama on the wisdom and merit of his appointments?

Kwesi Pratt, let me tell you something: It is time the NDC communication officials come out boldly and swiftly to silence Kwesi Pratt and his nonsense. The New King is John Mahama, and the new King is making his appointments and does not need you Kwesi Pratt and the Awhoi brothers. John Mahama is the new King and he will rule according to his vision for Ghana and will appoint his cabinet according to his own vision for Ghana.

Once again, where are the NDC youth? Where are the NDC party officials, secretaries, regional chairpersons and leaders and MPs? Where are the members of the “Zongo for Mahama” hierarchy and officials who worked so hard to elect their president? Where is the rank and file of the NDC who worked so hard to elect their President?

This is the time to govern, NDC! Don’t allow buffoons and rogues like Kwesi Pratt and his henchmen or masters in the beings of their Awhoi brothers cloud your efforts, or dominate the media with their poison and arrogance, or get the free pass whenever they alter pure nonsense on the air, or go on TV to thrash your Ministers and the President’s appointees. It’s your government and it’s your Ministers and it’s your President, John Mahama, making the decisions and making the appointments.
NDC, don’t give in to the buffoons like Kwesi Pratt and his Awhoi brothers hiding behind the scenes to drown your voices and diminish your hard fought gains in the elections to elect your President. NDC, stand up to Kwesi Pratt in your rallies, match on the streets to protest Kwesi Pratt’s and the Awhoi brother’s nonsense to diminish your President. Let your views and voices be heard on the TVs and radios and newspapers and the bulletins around the country, condemning Kwesi Pratt and his conniving Awhoi brothers to take the shine off this President. Let every village and town know the machinations and lies of Kwesi Pratt and his Awhoi brothers. Expose Kwesi Pratt and his hidden agenda to nullify your efforts, and make sure your President’s decisions are respected, effected, supported and advanced to move Ghana forward, not to listen to idiots and buffoons like Kwesi Pratt who only want some selfish greedy and narrow agenda for control and domination by the Awhoi brothers. No, NO, NO!!! Ghana is moving forward not backward.

The touch has been passed on, the playing field has been leveled, the New Ghana is born and the old guards and old defamed and outdated ideas represented by Kwesi Pratt and the Awhoi brothers are no more; they are history, they are no more, and they have been swept away by the high tides of history and will never surface again. The president has chosen these people to help him realize the promises he has made to the people of Ghana. Until we allow these people to get to work or the arrangements put into place get into operation, we are tempted to criticize. I have observed situations in the past which seem to be heading for failure but later turned to be successful.
The difficulty is that we all have our differences for which our approaches to issues are likely to be different. This is the reason people should be given the benefit of the doubt. In recent past, the central bank adopted some measures to deal with the worsening exchange rate and these attracted criticism from a section of the public especially the main opposition party in the country. To the amazement of some of us, these measures proved to be successful.
Personally, I also have some reservations to the appointments and some connected issues but I want to keep my silence for now. The repercussion of my comment may not be good to the party and the government. It is my hope that those making these appointments will reflect deeper than they have done since their current actions may have negative or positive effects on the fortunes of the party in future.
This party could have suffered defeat if the leadership had not changed. There was the belief that the party could have lost if the late president had lead it. Ironically, this same party won the elections due partly to the good works of the late president. So it critical to analyze these issues.
