If that is the case, the Majority Leader should be made minister without portfolio or his status be raised to the level of a cabinet minister so that he can attend cabinet meetings. That is the best solution because managing a ministry as a minister as well as being Majority Leader in Parliament will be extremely challenging for him and he may be less effective in one role or both.

The majority leader represents the party, so one would expect he will be working with the adminstration to help formulate their agenda into laws. Why not just amend the constitution to give the majority leader the authority to lay "just a common paper" before parliament, if they feel it's that important? And what is "a common paper" anyway?. In Ghanaian jargon, that means "unimportant". Raising his position to the ministerial level entitles him to salary increase with all the "perks" at tax payer's expense. Their suggestion is simply "payback time" for "one of their own".

I find the reasons being put forward by both Avoka and Kyei to be very flimsy. The only time I will support this is if the person does not take double pay for being a minister and majority of MP's leader.

Why can't an efficient government make sure that it's ministers are present in parliament to lay bills? is that not part of their job? Except Avoka wants to tell me that the ministers have other things doing like chasing Legon girls

Has the old Council of State been re-sworn in to mandate the President consult for ministerial appointment.
