$100,000 annual grant is very SMALL by US standards;its about GH10,000 considering value.I mean,ADB or AGB should do far more for Africa's agri-business entrepreneurs. The objective is geared towards US and European markets to guarantee cheap fruits and vegetables with low wages for farm laborers. Adding value to products from these operations means added income. The tendecy to sqander grants defeats the incentive to increase production. With USAID,WU Foundation and others at play here, the African Diaspora Market looks like US-AGOA tentacle grabing Africa's economy under its neo-colonial control.

Well said but what exactly is your point? Note that the fund takes cognizance of many factors before approval. It is competitive than a ploy in that one have to justify the viability of a project by submitting a business plan which is persuasive enough to earn approval. The whole fund could be dishonestly misappiedif not controlled, monitored and verified. Most at times the inteligentias tend to display their book knowledge critisizing that inovating. Africa needs solutions not display of knowledge of theories, and principles which have not gone through any methamophosis. Wake up to realities of time and be updated.

I am sure you never fought in any war of African liberation but that of serving imperialist war peace keeping.
There is nothing sophiscasted about my point;it went to the goal of the USAID programs(Education or Agric) in Africa and precisely US neo-colonialism in Africa. If you served under Nkrumah years, you should be smart enough to see how the system functions. USAID is a front for US INTERESTS IN AFRICA by way of State Dept.Grants and other economic AID are INFLUENCE PEDDLING baits. Yes,it is an incentive for capacity building and the selected projects are conduits for penetration and sleeper agents for manipulation. Your loyalty is not to Ghanaian/African support institutions but that of imperialists.
Agric Dev.Bank was set up to provide exactly this kind of assistance to empower our farmers and farm cooperatives. It has nothing to do with intelligentia but sustaining food security & national independence.
UN's WFO and ADB have similar grants.
Bill Gates Foundation is independent of the neo-colonialist tentacles I am talking about. You did not ask how FREE you are compared to how dependent you are in feeding your self? My point is that African govern-ments and institutions must serve our people with capacity building resources. Imperialist grants pursuits have become a mode of dependent culture for survival to our own detriment. On the face, USAID is a benevolent donor but a "Trojan Horse".You need to know the games of imperialist system, Komla Tamakloe!!
