NPP 'intellectuals' like Akadu, Okoampa and Justice Sarpong have done their party a lot of harm, by being thoroughly tribal, elitist and wickedly insulting.
But winning, as Haruna knows, is not everything. Is any of these contending parties going to be able to lift us out under-development?
Mahama said the Chinese are going to build a stadium 'free of charge' at Cape Coast.
Is that not more of the same 'dependency complex' that militates against our ability to rise above our humble and even deteriorating surroundings?

I said this before and I agree with Akadu – I don’t think making Bawumia the NPP flagbearer would make a difference. I don’t think religion really plays a part in the voting, if that was the case then making a Bawumia, a Muslim, the flag bearer would prevent the Christians in the south from voting for him and that would cost NPP more. Bawumia sounds like a smart guy and a good candidate for 2016.
In my opinion what the NPP ought to do is to set up more offices in the Central, Western and Brong Ahafo areas and do more ground work in those areas. It is a waste of time trying to court the Northern and Volta regions; convincing Akans in the 3 Akan regions NPP lost in the next elections is more doable.

Has the npp lost Mahama Haruna who is a prolific writer sometims writing an average of one article a day. I knew his passion for npp. What has changed? all of a sudden he is writing features that are divisive, tribalistic and critical of Nana Addo. His feaytures are now being used as reference writings by ndc members. I hear he is not happy over certain issues but what is the npp doing to put him in order. His writing skills could be to the advantage of the party but not a disadvantage.

Don't credit Bawumia what he is not entitle to. Out of 5 constituencies in the Mamprugu area, npp won only 2 and the ndc won the remaining 3 seat in the presidential election. Indeed,npp won the Bunkurugu Parliamentary seat because of an independent candidate from ndc stock. JM got 17,393 against 8,649 by nana in Bunkpurugu consituency. so, how can one credit the seat to the had work of Bawumia?. One thing is clear in this write up. The agenda of northers to hijack the 2 leading parties is clear. The northerners have succeeded in hijacking the ndc but not the npp. We are not there yet. We are not going to fall to the northern agenda. The votes we get from Ashanti region alone is more than what we get from the entire 3 northern regions. Should we risk this vote for the northern agenda, we risk taken a journey of no return

In the 3rd republic, the UNC boasted of Alhaji Mahama Iddrissu, Obed Asamoah, Agama, Heward-Mills, Ala Adjetey etc. It has always been partial to the educated but never a tribal party.

Nevertheless, it needs to broaden its base. The NDC is the tribal party

If you drop bawumia the idea that you are not credible as a national party but a factional group would e embedded. Yes you would always at best get 47% -50.5%, but shrewd politics means you are making it difficult for yourself. Let Bawumai run the party and everyone would see a new inclusive movement. I would not vote for you, eeeven though I have always voted for you. I am fed up with 'it is my turn' nonsense. It is the peoples turn at the ballot box and if you want 52% you would go for Bawumai or go for Alan Cash and struggle with you usual 47-50% pareto. The problem with Kuffour & Co, Nana included.... they are too clever by HALF.
