We might have to call on someone like we did in 1979 to come and shake up things. Can you imagine Mr. Woyome and other nuts are walking freely and enjoying what they have stole from us?

DID THEY TRAVEL FROM THEIR BACKWARD CULTURE IN THE BELIEF THAT AFRICANS WERE IMBECILES WHOSE RESOURCES WERE SIMPLY THERE FOR THE TAKING; OR THAT THEY COULD SIMPLY COME AND COLONISE US THE WAY WE WERE COLONISED BY THE EUROPEANS.

The inability of district assemblies,chiefs,district chief executives,paramount and regional chiefs as well as Ghana Mineral Commission to challenege illegal chinsese miners destroying their environments,drinking water source, rivers,farms,drainage systems,gardens, road networks ,infrastructures is very clear... MONEY HAS CHANGED HANDS..AS thereby disabling GHANA SECURITY FORCE ...(POLICE, ARMY, IMMIGRATION) to pursue any meaningful action ... The government in power cannot chase the illegal chinese miners out as much as the community bearing the brunt are frightend to CONFRONT THE CHINESE AND GHANAIN MINING TEAM ILLEGALY OPERATING IN THOSE DISTRICTS.
Ghananians like Nigerians talk big, yabs yabs wild ....and acts under bed.....no one want to bear responsibilty .... the lack of action by Ghananians to insist on their right, to register claims, to seize what belongs to them.....is extremely weak in Ghana and Africans in general . I really don't understand how a chinese will take up arms in Ghana agaist a Ghanaian and our government will say nothing. Mills was a disgrace to ghana although I go with NDC, Mills wasn't the right choice.

Miners arming themselves though creates the following resentments:-

1) That they are aggressors who cannot be approached peacefully and communicated with rationally.

2)That they are doing something bad enough that the only way they can protect themselves is with arms, which in Ghana is heavily associated with violent criminal activity. Historically too it is associated with colonial oppression.

Also the issue here is illegal mining, this includes land and water which is left hazardous for those who reside or depend upon it. Also, I can also speak for my own family - but even though many Ghanaians are monotheistic (christian, muslim etc) there is still a deep, old pantheistic connection to the land. You take care of the land and it takes care of you. When I see it being torn apart for petty profit and to satiate the greed of pathetic landowners, officials etc, a part of me is also torn apart. I would not even consider myself an environmentalist, but I do love the beautiful nature of Ghana, and believe that your average Ghanaian has a right to untainted water and vegetation. I do not want it to go up in smoke so that some roly-poly chieftain or official somewhere can send his roly-poly children to private school in America.

Think about it this way; how would you feel if you lived in a village in China, you saw Africans mining upstream and your water and crop was becoming polluted- your land an eyesore, but when you went to talk to them they brandished a gun, and maybe could not talk to you because they knew no Chinese? Unless you are Ghandi let me tell you how, you would feel resentful- even if you knew it was not rational, compassionate or kind. You would call the police and expect them to be immediately evacuated.

If there were no guns involved - people would not focus so much on the miners themselves. They would instead be asking why the planning permission and environmental legislation is either so lax, or is being ignored.
