Inter-Pharma provides private suites at Koforidua Regional Hospital

Two new refurbished private suites at the Obstetrics and Gynecological ward of the Koforidua Regional Hospital have been inaugurated to cater for pregnant women who want to have their privacy to deliver at the medical facility.

The suites were refurbished at the cost of GH¢15,000 by Inter-Pharma Pharmaceutical Company, a drug distribution company based in Koforidua.

The Medical Director of the Hospital, Dr Daniel Asare, said some pregnant women who are receiving care do now want to deliver at the facility because they complain that the wards do not guarantee their privacy.

He explained that, to enable the hospital to meet the expectation of all their clients, the management of the hospital approached Inter-Pharma Company Limited which agreed to refurbish the ward to create the suites.

Dr Asare therefore called on public-spirited organisations and individuals to support the hospital to help improve upon its facilities to boost health care delivery.

Mr. Bright Boateng, Managing Director of Inter-Pharma Ltd, said his decision to support the project was in honour of the social responsibility of the company to the people of Koforidua.

As part of the ceremony, Mr. Boateng donated automatic blood pressure apparatus and stethoscopes to the hospital.**
