  I am not sure of the capacity of the World Bank (WB) or UN organizations like WHO, UNAIDS, UNDP to handle this type of work effectively, ie highly infectious diseases like Ebola While I was Health Care Waste Management (HCWM) Coordinator at a funded World Bank between 2003 and 2005 in one of my communications I mentioned:
  
  "..........As part of the RRI we were going to supply the hospitals with colour coded bins and other minor HCWM equipment (gloves, aprons etc.). Now funds for this have to found since a good separation/segregation of health waste has to be achieved prior to treating (by autoclaving) the separated "clinical waste" when the autoclaves are commissioned in the CMC area......"
  
  The email reply for this from Nhin Nhin Pyne (Senior Public Health Specialist, South Asia Region, Human Development, World Bank) was:
  
  "My email indicates to you that HIV/AIDS project will finance HCWM supplies (gloves and aprons are NOT equipment). So I am unclear why you are raising this matter!" Here you can see that the WB does not know what PPE (Personal Protective Equipment is.
  
  There were many complications including corrupt practices practiced by the WB then, and this probably the case now. I wrote to the University of Iowa (USA) and got confirmation with regard to what PPE are. God help us soon !!!!
