Woyome Sponsored Osafo Marfo’s Failed Presidential Bid As…

O.B. Amoah Blows Gh290k

…Inside story of How Woyome’s Traitors Betrayed Him

“I write to inform you that the Hon. Minister of Education and Sports has no objection to your moving to the construction sites to commence evacuation and demolition exercises for the rehabilitation and upgrading of the Accra, Kumasi and El-Wak stadia.

“By this notice, we are informing the authorities of the stadia and El-Wak to grant access to the construction teams for the agreed exercise. These two seemingly innocuous paragraphs of a letter dated 6th February 2006 to Waterville (Woyome’s partners) and copied to the office of the President (under NPP) was authored by O.B. Amoah, former Deputy Minister of Education and Sports under Kufuor administration and who subsequently betrayed Alfred Agbesi Woyome of the now infamous Woyomegate scandal.

Documentary evidence available to The Al-Hajj indicates that Mr. O.B Amoah’s for all his efforts was a beneficiary of a whooping GHS290, 000 from the now beleaguered businessman and ex-diplomat, Alfred Agbesi Woyome

It has now evident that, Mr. Woyome, a close ally of the then deputy minister issued a cheque in the sum of GHS290, 000 to Mr. Amoah who subsequently endorsed the back of the cheque and deposited it into his bank account at the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB), branch name currently withheld. The Al-Hajj has learnt that the beleaguered Alfred Woyome has had an ancient friendship with both Mr. O. B. Amoah and his former boss Mr. Osafo Marfo the former Minister of Education and Sports.

This relationship according to reliable intelligence led to the financing of the campaign of Mr. OB Amoah twice in his parliamentary career. The first one was in the run up to the 2008 elections and the second one was the just ended NPP primaries for the 2012 elections.

In spite of all these generous gestures, Hon. O. B. Amoah was the one who eventually blew the lid on Alfred Woyome to NPP loud-mouth MP, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong after the former attacked the latter on Accra based Citi FM. Hon. Kennedy Agyapong revealed to our Alhaji Bature on Adom fm that, even though the Auditor General’s report for 2010 which captured the supposed judgment debt payment to Mr. Woyome was laid in parliament, it was O.B. Amoah who drew his attention to it after Woyome on an Accra based radio station said uncomplimentary words about him. According to Mr. Agyapong; it was O.B Amoah who whispered to him that Alfred Woyome was not entitled to that payment.

This singular action of divulging the supposed ‘damaging’ information to Kennedy Agyapong triggered the current uproar on the now Woyomegate scandal. In a related development, The Al-Hajj can today revealed that Mr. Woyome has also sponsored the failed presidential bid of the former Minister of Education and Sports Mr. Yaw Osafo Marfo (under whose tenure Woyome allegedly secured the stadia contracts) in the keenly contested elections that saw the election of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as the NPP flagbearer for the 2008 elections. Mr. Osafo Marfo, also a former minister of finance under the Kufuor administration was said to have described Mr. Woyome as his Godfather, philanthropic extraordinaire and that if he had not met Woyome he did not know how his life would have been. The former minister said this during the launch of his presidential campaign in his hometown Akyem Awisa in Eastern Region. Tongues are wagging on the amount of money the former minister was said to have pocketed from Alfred Woyome after sponsoring his failed presidential bid and the Al-Hajj will make it public as soon as our investigations completes. Hon. Osafo Marfo, like his former deputy, O.B. Amoah has failed to come to the defence of his pal, Woyome, despite the generosity of the now embattled businessman towards him.

Maverick NPP Member of Parliament for Assin North Hon. Kennedy Agyapong has been hopping from one radio station to another in the capital city Accra with a list of some NDC government and party functionaries who were said to have received various amounts from Mr. Woyome.

The list has so far been discredited by various people mentioned by the hot-headed NPP Member of Parliament. Government has swiftly denied the existence of any Castle account and Mr. Kennedy has failed to provide any evidence to prove his allegations. Stay tuned for more anon.
