MP Assures Alien Communities

Hon. Emmanuel K. K. Teye, Member of Parliament (MP) for Ashaiman, has told alien communities in Ashaiman to remove the fears implanted in them by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will deport all of them when voted into power and to go about their businesses without fear but observing and applying the laws.

He was addressing the Malian community at a well-attended meeting held at Official Town at Ashaiman last Sunday.

Hon. Teye stated that the NPP government has no secret agenda for any alien, but instead the government has called for effective collaboration of businessmen of all nationalities to assist to pull the wheels of the economy together to bring about wealth for all.

"You can draw the line, the time for harassment and intimidation has passed, this time round we want to promote peace and that is with our neighbours."

Hon. Teye advised them to register their businesses so that they pay the normal taxes to the government, saying "nobody will interfere with your business when you conform to all the laws because good governance involves all of us."

He advised them to send their children to school so that they become useful citizens who can effectively contribute their quota towards national development.
