Evangelist slams creeping homosexuality

Accra, July 16, GNA - Dr Lawrence Tetteh, a Ghanaian international evangelist at the weekend slammed the creeping practice of homosexuality and lesbianism in the country and called for a massive united front against it.
He warned the authorities against any attempt to legalise the practice, saying it is a rebellion against God.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Accra, Dr Tetteh said the political leaders must tackle the issue headlong and make their views very clear about it to the citizenry.
“Before the 2012 General Election the political parties should make it clear to the electorate whether they support gay practice or not?
“Our leaders must stand up and let the people know that we belief in God and will therefore not make gay relationship a human right issue. We cannot talk about human rights when people are harming themselves willingly,” he said.
Dr Tetteh said Ghanaians must take a clue from what is happening in the world today, adding: “We should observe the turbulence brought on mankind through disobedience to God.
“As Ghanaians we should not follow what others are doing, but what fits our cultural and traditional norms and values. We should not copy blindly.”
Dr Tetteh said the fact that some countries had legalised homosexuality and lesbianism did not make it right, stressing “every country has unique characteristics that makes it different”.
“If there is rot everywhere, it doesn’t mean we must blindly follow the rot.”
Dr Tetteh said Romans Chapter 1 verses 26-27 speaks against lesbianism, whilst Leviticus and Deuteronomy have taken a stand against homosexuality.
“In the Old Testament people who practiced homosexuality were put to death,” he said.
