So, if for any reason he's not available, for a reasonably extended period of time(which we believe is overdue), to serve the interest of the people he represents their seat must revert to them for them to choose a new person whilst he sorts himself out. If Parliament cannot do it the courts should come in.

This is a wake up call for the legislators to take a second look at the laws governing such issues. Why should one person keep the constituents in suspense for his own doing? Ghana gov't can't impress upon US authorities to fast track the MP's case and no one knows how long it will take to determine the case. Before US authorities make an arrest, it means they have put the person on their radar for a period of time before they strike. The chances of proving innocent is slim so his constituents must consider themselves as they don't have a representative in parliament. They should keep their fingers crossed until next general elections.
