He is not too intelligent and very ignorant, otherwise he would know, that heavy turbulence does happen often on that corridor with the usual heavy cumulonimbus clouds around Accra and Kumasi flight regions, and when you travel in a turboprop, which is the kind of plane PassionAir operates (the Dash 8s) one tends to feel or hear the vibrations louder than if it were in a jet. The bangs most often are sudden flexing of the fuselage or empenage (aluminium body) due to sudden wind shear or sudden pressure changes which cause propeller disruption from the turbulent air swirling suddenly into the propeller engine. Planes do not crash from these events and will continue to fly normally after the gusts and turbulent weather has passed. It is unpleasant to passengers so understandable if they complain but a cursory check on the internet/Ai will inform all the ignorant guys here that nothing strange has happened.

Windshear refers to the situation where the wind changes direction or speed suddenly, over a short distance. Strong winds themselves, of course, are not necessarily a major problem for aircraft. The danger with windshear is the sudden change in the wind and the resulting effect on the aircraft's lift.

I have encountered such turbulence at least 3 times flying to some parts of Italy.
Note: I'm not saying that planes should not be maintained. I'm only telling you that you may even maintain your plane today and tomorrow, it will meet a turbulence, if you cross its way. You can't avoid that.

Rough aeroplane rides from turbulence occurs in bad weather conditions, if it is true as Passion Air claims. But then if the air meteo service was aware of bad weather conditions, why was the aircraft given the green light to take off in the first place?
And barring the reported bad weather conditions, was the aircraft deemed airworthy to fly?
The questions of bad weather, take off clearance, aircraft airworthiness, crew error etc, are things worth interrogating in this instance by the appropriate air safety authorities; as opposed to talk of “some prominent people on board”.
