Not only that neighborhood. The streets of Accra are dark at night. There are no street lights, no reflectors on curbs, no street lines and crosswalk markings. Traffic lights are not working. Aboboyaas and taxi tricycles (Mahama can do) have annoyingly inundated the city. Okada riders have pitched camp irritatingly at every junction causing nuisance in neighborhoods. The zongos are sprawling and spanning and spawning. Container kiosks are springing up everywhere. Coupled with that Moslem muezzins irritatingly disturb our sleep at dawn with their call to prayers. Christians neither give us peace with their all night prayer sessions and noisy services. Not excluding the pubs. Fitting mechanics have daringly taken over every street in the suburbs. These should be fixed to avoid disasters. Driving now in Accra at night is always a brush with death. The relevant ministries must be up and doing. The municipal assemblies are useless; supervising all this chaos and confusion and crisis. Traders have taken over pedestrian crosswalks. Squatters have taken over every conceivable space. DAMN!
