What the GoldBod Act is set to achieve is great, but what is the assurance that this can be sustained whenever government change hands? It appears all is going on well now. As usual, both local and foreign governments/entities are waiting on the sidelines for an opportunity to dismantle this vital new law to the disadvantage of Ghana because it’s a brilliant idea.
The enemy is within. It may be hard, but think about how this goldbod law can thrive in the long run. If there are any lessons to go by, examine what happened to some of Nkrumah’s great economic policies despite some political shortcomings. Many wished most of the defunct factories and projects are up and running now. Hopefully, both political parties would have a sense of responsibility towards the people of Ghana.

And who said our politicians think of this country? Mahama can stay in power as a life president and nothing, absolutely nothing will change. Upon all the noise about a booming economy, prices are still shooting up.

Goldbod is good but depending on an unregulated sector is bad for country on the long term.
Taking 30 per cent of big miners output dies not give them incentive to increase production in Ghana.Benefits to us in the short term but they will deploy capital elsewhere to grow their output.
We need measures to have a sustainable Artisanal and Small scale mining sector .Also increased investments in exploration and big miners to grow the output.
Without proper mining the future of agriculture and water security is at stake We in the third world have a growing population so pressure on food security water security etc as a country
You cannot even industrialize as a country without water security.
Galamsey is a short term win and long term disaster for the country
Ghana has enough resources to mobilize instead of obsession with Gold by all means.
