You are not set. There are no adequate road signs and markings on our roads. Most of our cars today are from USA with speedometer in miles. Our road sign indicates, for example, 50.50 what? Meanwhile, Ghana has gone metric since August 1974, the population still uses mile instead of kilometres. More must be done. The one driving an American manufactured car will easily drive at 50 miles instead of 50 kilometres.

Highways speed still 50..
Roadsigns and markings absent
Good initiative but interventions must support or will just be a money collection exercise
This will cause discontent in society.

Good policy with archaic legislation.
Road signs mostly absent in the country.
How can speed be constant everywhere.

1. how do traffic -lights post are positioned ?
in every traffic -light position there must be a 2.4 meter post and the 3.5 meter pole.
the 2.4 meter pole is the one that communicate to the first 5 cars in the roll while the 3.5 meter pole communicate to the cars behind the first 5 cars and the poisition must be about 1meter from the line where the first car must stop and wait.
all these thing are poorly placed in this country and the police want the motorist to be a magician to know everything by spirit.
we live in a country where walkways are prohibited when it comes to Road construction and everybody is quite .
Right of way for pedestrians are equally important like the right of way for the motorist.
how on earth could a normal human Being construct a 30km/h , 50km/h and 80k/H road without a pedestrian walkway ? and still want compliance ? purly incompetence

Interesting times. Do we have enough roadsigns and markings on our roads? What about ALL the nonworking traffic lights on our streets? What can drivers do to the authorities about inadequate provision of roadsigns, markings and traffic lights? Can drivers sue the MTTD for neglect? The devices must be mounted on poles else the MTTD are going to manipulate them - this is GH.

Road traffic law enforcement is a brilliant idea. Laws that are difficult to comply with, in that the situation for compliance is non existent or woefully cracked up is a joke. Look at our roads, traffic lights work when they want to. Some of the lights are so obscure but the police sit somewhere near and once on driver's who genuinely didn't see the lights. Same for where to make our not to make u turns. Same for where or where not to park cars. Like today, v is a no parking, tomorrow it's a yes l, you can park. Biko oo, let's get real as a country. As you copied the road rules copy and implement the supporting conditions for compliance, law enforcers!

The general outlook of this Traffic-tech GH in this modern world is the best option for every country to enforce compliance, however my biggest challenges who it comes to our country Ghana, has to do with poor road maintenance , poor road markings and most importantly poor placement of speed limit signpost.
There are many in our roads that has no speed limit inscription signs at all.- I head the PRO talking about this in general terms like landmarks and the city or residential roads where the driver must be in a position of knowing that - residential roads are 30km/h , 50km/ h and the landmark 80km/h. for me this type of ambiguity and it assumption should be addressed before the rolll out -
1. here in Ghana mostly all the roads could be seen settlements alongside of it. even those we called Highways or motorways could be seen pedestrians crossing here and there hazardously - that is why parliament must as a matter of urgent with this initiative review that road traffic Act by reviewing the general terms to specification and details .
eg
Kumasi to Accra road- is this stretch of of connectivity a highway or a residential road, or a street that is connecting two cities ?
how are you expecting a driver travelling from Accra to Tamale constraint his or her self to 30km/h, 50km/h and 80km/h ? and expect road compliance ? the Architectural structures of the road is by it self not compliance to the road traffic Acts in the country so for me our roads and it infrastructure in the country is not ready for the Traffic Tech system.
2. all over the developed world which we want to copy from-
before a speed camera is been mounted in a particular spots- there must be a clear understanding as to how fast or slow could a motorist drive on that stretch of the road ? then follow visibility of the speed limit inscription like the following
A) if it is 30km/h . speed limits must be visibly inscripted in every 300 to 1000meters
B) if it is 50km/h speed limits are mandatory to be visible to the road user in every 1000meters
C) IF it is a highway normally every 2 to 3 km , there must be mandatory speed limit visible to the Driver
that is why sometimes you could see Traffic police officers mounting their cameras inbetween that proved intervals of the prescribed speed limit to capture the non-compliance .
In fairness if these issues are not addressed and the police uses the Traffic Tech Gh -it is a way of extortion money from the drivers, because our police officers in Ghana here by nature are purely and evily minded extortionists who always want to use the law to abuse the people.
take a driver traveling from Accra to Burko as another eg - asking this driver to drive from 50km/h up maximum of 80km/h is not prudent and attainable if you want to prevent accident
