Samples of Yazz sanitary pads tested by the Ghana Standards Authority (GSA) have met the acceptable microbiological limits for single-use disposable sanitary towels, according to the product’s manufacturer, Lexta Ghana Limited.
In a statement issued on October 30, 2026, the company said laboratory reports dated October 14, 2026, confirmed that the samples complied with Ghana Standard GS 1248:2019.
“The samples tested recorded microbiological results within the acceptable limits specified under Ghana Standard GS 1248:2019 for single-use disposable sanitary towels,” the statement said.

The company, however, acknowledged that the test results might not address all concerns raised by consumers, particularly those relating to comfort and product performance.
It said factors such as breathability, fit, heat and humidity could influence users’ experiences with sanitary products.
The manufacturer said it was reviewing these aspects as part of efforts to improve the design and comfort of its products.
The statement comes amid consumer concerns about sanitary pads, with questions extending beyond product safety to include comfort and suitability under local climatic conditions.
