Specific time is allocated for the burial aka, the interment. And the Pastor is expected to function accordingly.
It’s important also to note that the real funeral rite (3yie no) begins fully after the body is lifted for burial and most of the mourners who do not go to the cemetery move straight to the funeral grounds the moment the body is taken for burial.
At the burial, no one is supposed to interrupt & interfere with the duty of the Pastor.
Everyone is there to show their final Respect to the deceased person in particular and to the family as a whole…as they bid the very last farewell to their departed.
To hijack the moment and begin talking (advice or not) is completely out of place and amount to lawlessness.
Then to confront the Pastor with the theological questions and demand answers is nonsensical to say the least.
The venue and timing make whatever the guy did unjustified and someone should have gently tapped him to order.
We highly commend the Pastor for being patient and holding himself in check, and finally laying the departed soul to rest in peace.
Such open confrontation as witnessed here is a serious abuse on the Pastor and should never be allowed anywhere.
An atmosphere of an extreme solemnity is always required during such moments and particularly at the gravesite and we must all learn to appreciate that.
