Ace broadcaster Kwami Sefa Kayi has said he would fully support former Black Stars captain André ‘Dede’ Ayew if he decides to contest for the Ghana Football Association (GFA) presidency.
He explained that Ghanaian football needs a change in leadership to introduce fresh ideas and help revive the sport’s dwindling fortunes.
During a light-hearted exchange on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo Morning Show with sports journalist Dan Kwaku Yeboah, Sefa Kayi said he hoped Ayew would declare his intention to contest early to galvanise support.

He also called on the public to rally behind Ayew if he eventually decides to contest for the GFA presidency, adding that he would be keenly following developments.
“If he has not declared, then I am declaring for him. Kwaku, if Dede decides to contest, I will support him, and I wish everybody would do the same so that there will be changes. For this, I have declared that I am not saying I am biased. For this, I have an interest,” he said amid laughter during the segment.
There have been several media reports linking Ayew to a possible bid for the GFA presidency, although the player has yet to confirm any such plans.
Ayew has also not publicly dismissed the speculation. Meanwhile, his continued support for the national teams and attendance at Ghana Premier League matches have fuelled further discussion about his possible interest in football administration.
