Abolish this obnoxious Chiefs and Chieftancy menace. All the Chiefs in Africa and in particular Ghana MUST stop their nonsense. They are CRIMINALS and we must rise up against this Chieftancy menace. They sell lands that belong to the whole population of the area to benefit only themselves. These criminal Chiefs sell lands and the same land to 10 different people and they sell lands meant for schools and community infrastructure like youth centres and libraries and they bloody sell lands to the extent that pedestrians do not have space left for them to walk. These Chiefs sell parks etc. Abolish all these backward traditions. Ghana need developmental projects

No chief has the right under the laws of Ghana to banish anybody from performing a legally accepted event in any town. Where a chief intends to do any such ting against an individual, he is to go to a court of competent jurisdiction to seek such an order
The court will grant such action of the chief when the chief canvases reasonable arguments to convince the court that it is in the interest of peace and security to grant such an order. Is the letter insulting! If it is to the chief, then too bad. The law does not make any sanction against any such chiefs and that being the case, the chief cannot take any action agsinst the MP
Hon Mavis should ignore this chief and go about her activities without any let or hindrance.
We are not under chiefdom or under a monarchy. This might be the beginning of the end of this raving chief who thinks the paramountcy belongs to him. He is just an occupant of a stool and that is all there is to that

The refusal of the MP to address the Chief as OMANHENE OF AGONA TRADITIONAL AREA is suggestively telling you that the MP don't accept his position. The Chief's hardline position for him not being referred with his rightful title also exposed him as a bully not good enough for his position. The Omanhene went overboard with his order but you are wrong to call for the abolition of the institution of Chieftaincy. You are wrong to paint all Chiefs with the same brush and call them criminals. Chieftaincy institution underpins Ghanaian and indeed African culture. It is fair to argue that majority of Ghanaians from Accra in the south to Paga in the north will disagree with your call for the abolition of Chieftaincy. Great Britain that has granted you sanctuary is respected worldwide for its adherence to culture, traditions and in particular its love for the Monarchy. "Koo Darkie", would you advocate for the abolition of the British Monarchy despite its apparent flaws?

To ban and then go ahead to instruct the local government officials in the area to enforce it is interesting.
Our chiefs need to be accorded the respect due them absolutely without any doubt. However our chiefs should understand the dynamics under which we as a country currently operate. Ghana is a democracy that recognises it traditional leaders and accord them that respect. The MP is the people's representative. To claim to ban her is a bit on the harsh side.
This is a matter that could be easily resolved. Reading the chief's statement, iyt seems this is not the only occasion. If I remember clearly, there was a dispute over the stool and I believe strongly there must be a background to this incident

I will advise this chief to use the same energy to ban galamsy in his community if any
Guys, I am not sure the Agonamanhene just woke up and took this decision. It's obvious the tone of the letter broke the camel's back. There is possibly an underlying issue.

This is a complete display of ignorance and he should be advised ...

This is nonsense. Nobody including chiefs have the right to ban anyone to walk on Ghana land.
This chief is obnoxious and a bully and needs to be educated about what he can do and what he can’t do.
What system of government does Ghana practice?
