Dede has to work on how emotional he is,...he comes across as emotionally immature, or too emotional in how he speaks. There is nothing wrong for a player to go to the FA boss and say you need to do a ceremonial game for me,..because if FA goes to a player about a ceremonial game, the same player, like Dede, will come and say they even forced a ceremonial game on me because they wanted me to retire by force!!!

I don't agree because there are many more factors to the meltdown which, I believe, he knows but chose not to address in this interview because he was trying to answer only the question asked in that moment, but Ghanaweb decided, as it is fond of doing, to sensationalise just a piece of the whole interview.

One gfa don't see Ghana players as worthy enough to have a ceremonial match and secondly these idiots at gga don't even know how to organize something like that so ask yourself why can't they learn from somewhere? You think brasil won't organize a testimonial match for Newmar or vini or France won't do thr same for their players? The reason gh hasn't won an afcon trophy is simple. Do your things well and learn from previous mistakes. You can't go to finals and still be losing in every final. Your Colts is bad but you want Colts to feed u17 and bstar? And local LG? Charity they say begins at home

The starting sentence should be, "Playing football and managing football", and they are not like night and day. They are like day and day. In most of the top teams in Europe, key roles are being handled by former footballers, and they are handling it very well. One example is Deco in FCBarcelona.
Knowing or having the idea, skills, talent as to how to manage football is not based on whether one is a former footballer or not.

This is not the mindset of a solution-oriented leader who properly assesses problems with data and science and comes with real practical solutions. The reason why the Black Stars have not won anything for decades is really simple. Lack of solution-oriented visionary leaders in the Sports Ministry and the GFA to coordinate a holistic youth program that properly scouts and grooms the best talent in the nation to replace failing, injury-prone, and aging Black Star players. That is what successful nations like France and others have done. We need big thinkers in leadership positions, not simpletons who don't know how to solve problems.

In every aspect of development all our neighbors, near and distant seem to be passing us by because corruption and therefore lack of patriotism is totally baked in.
As long as our officials in sports, at the harbors and airports, in politics and in public enterprise continue to demand bribes before doing their work, we will continue to sink.
By 2040, Ghanaians will crashing the gates of Burkina Faso for food, just us they did to Nigeria in the 1970s-80s and to Libya in the 1990-2011.
Somebody should save this note because today, Faso can feed itself while Ghana is still a hungry country because everybody wants to enjoy but does not want to add to the total national output through hard work, and our leaders do not seem to be inteligent enough to emulate Acheampong, Sankara or Traore.

The main problem of the country are the idiots in the two political parties who think politics is about their party. If Ghana does not boldly shift from the western style of democracy which breeds massive corruption and nepotism, the country will never progress at the rate at which it deserves. NPP and NDC and any other political party will collapse the country if we don't get the likes of Traore to take over and give what belong to the citizens to the citizens. Until that time, we should kiss Ghana's development good bye. As if that is not all, look at the influx of Nigerians perpetrating various degrees of heinous crimes in the country where the useless leaders pretend not to see, it won't be long for those blood money thirsty people to destroy this country like what they've done to their jungle.

How much taxes did he or his father paid to Ghanaian government? If you are professional player be prepared and be aware that your career will end one day, so spend your millions wisely and never count on the government to spend our tax money on you or organized your jubilee. He may be right about not honoring legends of the game but that is not the problem. We can honor all our soccer legends but that is not going to solve the problem. I expected more from someone like him. Frankly he comes off as selfish. It's all about what he experienced when he was in the Ghana squad that came close to winning the AFCON trophy twice and not about the deeper problems off the pitch. Such narrow-minded people cannot lead if they don't even understand the causes of our problems. He doesn't understand the correlation between sports administration and winning trophies. He is caught up in the emotional stuff. He has shown his hand, and it is clear he is unqualified to hold any senior position.
The problem we have now is not about honoring players it's about growing, nurturing and supporting talent through established systems. It's about creating the proper environment that will allow soccer to grow and thrive. It's going to take visionary leadership, to accomplish this, not people who just want to engage in corruption and fool as into thinking it is a coaching problem.
