Election constitutes the foundation of our democracy. What happens to EC directly affect the core of our democracy. The perception about people appointed as EC members is more important than their performance.
It is very worrying that NPP has destroyed the sanctity of EC by appointing known politically exposed persons into this sensitive org and our religious and traditional leaders kept quiet.
Now, NDC that has the golden opportunity to rectify the wrong is worsening the situation. It is high time this dangerous practice stopped for the sake of our democracy.
All politically exposed persons should be removed and reasigned for sake of our democracy. For now, only Career staff of EC should be appointed to salvage the image of EC.
The fact that nobody raised a finger on all the Career officers appointed to EC is the testimony that that is the best way out.
NPP AND NDC SHOULD KNOW THAT GHANA DOES NOT BELONG TO THEM ALONE AND THAT WITHOUT OUR DEMOCRACY THEY WILL BE NO WHERE.
