Driver unions have called for an investigation into a viral video showing a commercial bus ‘trotro’ and an Intercity STC coach allegedly engaging in a dangerous chase on the road.
The incident, which left passengers in the trotro terrified, reportedly involved the driver speeding recklessly while attempting to overtake the STC bus in a near-collision encounter.
Reacting to the video in an interview on Adom TV on October 14, 2026, a member of the Concerned Drivers Association said the incident warrants a thorough investigation to identify the drivers involved and appropriate sanctions applied.
He stressed that the conduct captured in the video was unacceptable and called for the strict enforcement of the country's road traffic laws, insisting that the culprit should not be allowed to go unpunished.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Managing Director of Intercity STC Coaches Limited, Nuru Hamidan, has confirmed that the company has commenced investigations to establish the identity of the driver operating the STC bus involved in the incident.
Speaking on Adom midday news on October 14, 2026, Hamidan said the driver could be dismissed if investigations establish that he was involved in misconduct.
It is alleged that the trotro driver pursued the STC bus because it had allegedly scratched his vehicle and failed to stop.
